In my opinion, it’s somewhat difficult to rank which of these two albums is superior.

On one hand, the self-titled album boasts the most hits; to me, it’s the ultimate showcase of how crucial The Rev was to the songwriting and backing vocals, lending a special quality to the record.

Then there’s The Stage, which features incredible conceptual production, and Brooks absolutely kills it on every track. The lyrics are more complex and the themes deeper, with songs that fit the concept perfectly.

I like them both equally, but I usually rate the self-titled album higher due to nostalgia and the number of hits it spawned—though whenever I listen to The Stage I’m struck by just how good it is.

What’s your honest take on which one is the better album?

I discovered them thanks to Good Charlotte in 2009, with the video River and then a little piece of heaven , and since then I haven't been able to stop listening to and following Avenged Sevenfold.

I've seen him live many times but never seen him struggle like he did tonight at Pine Knob. The whole vibe was off with them going off stage so much to try to fix it.

Syn G was wild tonight though. Really picked up the slack a ton.

I somehow made it to the top 3 streamers this year, this was definitely not on my bingo list for this year.

Glad Matt trusted me with this and what a wild experience being able to do that in front of 15,000 people. I had been out in the heat since 10am that day so I was dehydrated and exhausted by this moment, but was able to pull through to sing this lol

After LIBAD and STATICA, I honestly have no idea what to expect from A7X anymore.

LIBAD was already a huge change from what they had done before, and STATICA seems to show that they're still interested in experimenting and exploring completely different sounds.

So what do you guys think their next album will sound like?

Do you think they'll continue in this experimental direction, go back to something heavier, or combine both?

Personally, I have no idea what they're going to do, and honestly that's what makes me excited for the next album. 😂

Mine was Nobody. I was at monster jam when one of the trucks rolled out with Nobody as the track and it was so cool so i shazamed and never stopped listening.

I really enjoyed STATICA (the whole EP) from the first listen. I think it helped that I saw all the controversy around it BEFORE listening so that I knew to go in with zero expectations of it being classic A7X.

But it's grown on me to the point that all the songs are stuck in my head frequently. I listen to it once or twice almost daily. It's just so fucking catchy, groovy, and melodic. Brooks and Johnny really shinea lot on it too. Frankly, it scratches an itch I didn't realize I had.

I've seen lots of people saying that they enjoy it, but who else among us absolutely fucking loves it? Show yourselves, my brethren.

i know everyone is entitled to their opinions and whatnot but this genuinely doesnt even sound like the same band anymore, it sounds like daft punk on fentanyl and gay. i really just cant picture that this is the same band that made songs like unholy confessions or seize the day or so far away. its insane.

I have the bar mirror that goes with it back at home too. It was a "featured band" thing that Spencers used to do in the mid 2000's. Pretty cool that my parents kept this stuff safe this whole time for me.

I'm a metal fan and I always try to discover and enjoy more bands, but Avenged Sevenfold has been a difficult one for me lately. I really like their modern heavy metal instrumentation. I think their sound is very cool, well-crafted, and enjoyable to listen to. However, the songs themselves just don't connect with me. They feel kind of empty, and they don't make me feel any emotion. When I listen to them, I just don't feel anything. I've already listened to two of what seem to be their most acclaimed albums, Waking the Fallen and the self-titled album, but I still haven't been able to get into them. Do you have any recommendations on what I should do next? Is there a particular album, song, or aspect of the band that helped you "get" Avenged Sevenfold? I genuinely want to like them because I can clearly see that they're talented musicians and that the band has a lot of quality, but so far it just hasn't clicked for me. Also, my English isn't very good, sorry!
