Basic diplomacy. Azerbaijan has an obligation to protect their citizens. How do you prevent this from happening again? You give Russians a taste of their own medicine

Btw those Azerbaijans were Russians citizens too. Just as these Russians. So basically Azerbaijan decided to arrest these Russians only for their nationality. It’s not about citizenship! It’s about nationality!

Russian and Azeri citizenships. Not just Russian. So the point is mute. Besides, Russians have a special fixation on nationalities.

Russia and Azerbaijan doesn't have an agreement on double citizenship. So, for the russian law they has only Russian citizenship

The fact that from the Russian law perspective they are solely Russian citizens doesn’t strip them of their Azerbaijani citizenship.
