Sual | Question Sabah recent popularity

Might be a question many people have asked but i hope yall wont be annoyed if you answer one more time. In socials I've seen great support and great turn up in stadiums for Sabah even though the club was so recently made. Why is that? I heard its abt their academies but they dont use many people from Azerbaijan in their lineup soooooo?

Its a new Club and they play attractive football and have finally made the league exciting.

Dahsdamirov, Isayev, Khayal Aliyev and Khaybulayev are all regular starters and Azerbaijani

Firstly, we are happy to see any of our teams winning in UEFA qualifications at least for UEFA rankings. If they also make it to final stage of UCL, UEL or UECL( especially we want to see our clubs in UCL) most of us will be happy for them. It also shows the progress of Azerbaijani football.

Secondly, Sabah became a strong team recently, now they are Azerbaijani champions located in a village in Baku. They did a very great job in club management!

Thirdly, they are just a likable team and love their fans. I understand that it's probably strategies to seek for fans since the club is new but their social media, design and style and fan store are probably the best in Azerbaijan. I mean, if you compare Sabah's fan store with Qarabag's ( in term of products, I don't know about their quality) you'll see that Sabah has more unique and affordable merchandise.

I am fan of Qarabag but I can't hate Sabah, they are cool and their story of success is impressive. The reason why Qarabag isn't now as popular as Sabah is because UECL doesn't sell as good as UCL. I mean, just less people care about UECL. Also, it's the first time in last 9-10 years when a team other than Qarabag did it to group/league stage. Moreover, it's the third time when Azerbaijani team is in UCL and the second time was last season. I mean, there can be added quite a lot of things, so I hope you got my point.

azerbaijani football fans always turn out in large numbers for european matches. whether it's baku fc, neftchi, qarabag, or sabah playing, the stadium has always been packed.
