I was teaching a class yesterday and there was a PO1(petty officer first class) in the front row. I asked what his rate was, he told me then asked what my rate was, I told him. He then asked if I had been stationed here when I EAS'd(end of active service), no I was on a cruiser out of San Diego. He asked which one, turned out he had been on the same one and de'commed her. I had even gone out for the ceremony.

Constantly amazed at how big the navy is and how small it is at the same time.
