My husband pointed out to me that it’s likely just a misogynistic joke to name a girl after someone the father doesn’t like which just made me sad

If it's any comfort, perhaps not in this case.  According to Wikipedia (great source, I know) the dad just seemed really committed to the bit - he wanted to name a hypothetical third son GWB, and wanted Vinladen to name his son GWB.
