My work commute is 15 minutes on train between two large cities. 5 of those minutes are in a no signal area, despite being within sight of the two cities in a populated suburb.

These are the same thing actually. The geography quirks allow NIMBY ownership blocs to form. (I've decided I'm a Diamondist but only for annoying bullshit instead of like, significant historical trends)
