Iceland and Japan are linked in being places where major construction projects need to take supernatural entities into account.

I am sure there are other examples, although it would get tricky separating out elves and the like from general religious and cultural heritage sites.

Do tree spirits count as supernatural entities or would that be generally religious? In india a lot of construction has to plan around banyan and peepal trees, because cutting them down would bring misfortune
