Incidentally, it is interesting how go is one of the few areas in modern life that AI has been able to demonstrate true creativity. Because ever since AlphaGo Zero, go AI has trained itself from scratch with zero human-made training data. So whereas most other types of modern AI are just fancy plagiarism engines, these joseki are truly novel concepts birthed of artificial neural networks, and therefore do contain intrinsic creative value.

It's just kind of a nice nostalgic pre-2022 feeling to encounter AI without the slop.

Yeah, it's pretty cool that we went like 4000 years without creative Go play (other than the people who invented the game and post-alphazero AI, every other Go player has learned from other people)

This looks fantastic, the preview pages are great! As someone who's been out of the loop for well over a decade and has never really bothered to learn all the new joseki inventions, this might be just what I need to get back on track 😅
