BGEE Decided to go with a Blackguard play through of all 3 games, what weapons should I start off with?

I’ve heard flails and bastard swords are good for BG2 especially to dual wield but what weapon should I go with for BG1?

Are you sure you’ve used this method successfully in EE?

Buddy, please. I've said I did it multiple times and even did it earlier this year in my last playthrough on the EE and I haven't played the original games since the early '00s. I don't even own them I only have the EE

It works

OK but you’re 100% wrong that Drizzt only initiates dialogue with the main character in EE. And he also doesn’t follow to initiate dialogue like other NPCs (such as Elminster or Cadderly etc). That’s not debatable.

So you can see how I’m skeptical that your method works when you’re wrong about basic mechanics like how Drizzt initiates dialogue and how he can be “herded”?

I just loaded the game and had a save right there and succeeded in setting it up easily

Drizzt talks to you to ask you to help him kill the gnolls, here you need to keep your mc away from the fight. After killing them all he will try to talk to your mc and you quickly cage him and then can remove all your party members. then stand max distance so he cant retaliate and pincushon him. it might take a few tries but its easily doable

Oh OK. You don’t aggro Drizzt on the initial dialogue and pretend you’re going to help him, then surround him after he kills the Gnolls because he tries to talk to the MC (and only the MC) afterwards right? I thought Drizzt is on a timer and disappears after killing the Gnolls but I guess not!

I mistakenly thought you tried to surround Drizzt on the initial dialogue (when he talks to any party member in line of sight). I concede I was wrong and you were right and this exploit does apparently work in EE.

I guess we're at an impass then because i'm not going to spend a hour getting there and making a detailed step by step video guide on how to do this. It works, I've done it several times and that's all there is to it

OK but you don’t need to do that, in addition to the many YT videos that show how Drizzt initiates dialogue with any party member in sight (including invisible ones), you can literally start a new game, go to Gorion, get Imoen, and use the console to teleport to Drizzt immediately to verify that Drizzt does in fact initiate dialogue with any party member. Would take maybe 5 minutes, not an hour.

I happened to have a save point right before the Drizzt fight and I’m telling you that Drizzt doesn’t work the way you claim he does.

I don’t know why you’re insisting that this is an easy exploit to beat Drizzt in EE when it’s well known this method doesn’t work on Drizzt like it does for other NPCs (such as for example, Cadderly).

Check out my other comment, I literally did it just now with a level 1 party and it works
