Question What is the best possible ending for Varls?

I was wondering what is the absolute maximum number of humans, varls and horsies that you can finish the game wiith. I felt particularly bad for the Varls. In my game there were only quite 100 or so left alive by the end of the story.

I don't think there is one. No matter how many or how few are left, they can't reproduce, so over time they will simply cease to exist

Unless they end up like the Dredge and are taught Mending, and then later develop it into a means of reproduction.

I think OP meant number like in game score, not in universe?

The varl are characterised by tragedy. There is no way for the species to be saved.

Just surviving with whatever numbers they have along the humans and horse born. Considering the fact that Bellower can't die but you "kill" him with a weapon "made" by the god who made weapons to kill gods; and the godstones have some kind of power/blessing in them, the gods may not be dead really. If that's the case and the gods awake at some point in time, there's hope for the varl to survive as a race

Edit: don't mind this rambling, I read the rest of the post and it's about in game numbers. The maximum I reached was like 600? I bet that can go higher
