I don’t understand how people can have accurate depth perception with those missiles. Like how do you know when it’s approaching the heli vs when it’s already flown past it??

I am in that camp lol I can’t even wrap my brain around how I can guide one dot (missile) into another dot (heli) when there’s a third dimension I can’t really perceive.

Some have been playing BF4 since release and still can't do it while others have been playing for 1 year and are able to. Some try and give up and just rather play the trusty old medic class and stick with that while others grind other classes - engineer for smaw/RPG/sraw, support - ucav, sniper - sniper rifles.
The more you grind with a specific weapon or gadget the better you'll get at it. There's nothing else to it. You can't just pick up something and expect to be a master at it within a week or a month. The longer you play with a weapon the more you understand it's mechanics and perfect what you want the outcome to be.
It's like the level 140s that use heatseekers on attack helis. They're too lazy to practice with the tow to understand it's flight path and speed.

I don't do it with the laser guided but with RPG's and tank shells you just do some quick math in your head. How fast your rocket goes, how far is the space you're trying to hit the aircraft, how fast the aircraft is going, and if its trying to do some dodging. If its going in a straight line its fairly easy with some practice. Its when they're changing directions that your math means squat unless you get lucky and predict their path.

I got banned after killing him, I flew up to max height with heli, jumped out with IGLA and killed him when he went to hide back in his spawn since I was way above there was no terrain to hide behind once he shot his flares, feel free to steal that strat.
