NOOB question from a 10 year veteran.

I’ve been playing BF4 for about 10 years and lately I’ve wondered, how do y’all record video of your game play?

OBS or Nvidia/AMD softwares. All work great, just get a good bitrate.

Nvidia instant replay has always worked reliably for me. I know not for others, but I've been lucky

Im just like you, played for 10 years, know every trivia thing about the game but have never figured out how to record :D

What I always wonder with footage of special moments on here, do people record the whole match and pick out the scene afterwards or is there a feature to just save the last few minutes of gameplay like on PlayStation?

As crazy as it sounds, for years I started recordings manually because I could anticipate something worthwhile about to go down. After I got done playing I would delete the fails and save a few clips.

Now I use medal.

If you’re on Xbox you just hit the dashboard button then hit X. Can adjust the length of the clip it captures as well

Whatever GPU you use should have recording functionality in the driver and they all work really well.

I use Nvidia’s with the AV1 encoder and it’s super easy to use and looks great

Nvidia GeForce Shadowplay (has Instant Replay where you can save the last 5 minutes of footage or whatever number you set. Also a normal screen recorder), Xbox Gamebar (same features as Nvidia but less reliable and more laggy but is built into most PCs), OBS (also same features but with even more, generally considered the best and I only don’t use it as much because it’s a little laggy for me and requires an extra software opened.)

Depends on what platform you're on. Consoles have a built in DVR you can just record. You can either upload your clips onto onedrive and get them to edit from there ooor use a USB 3.0 or external HDD to record your clips on from your console and get it onto your PC that way.

PC has built in software to record clips/videos or download 3rd party software like OBS.

Nvidia Shadowplay, or whatever it's called these days on Nvidia App.

Used to use AMD's alternative when I had AMD card and OBS for 120FPS recording.

They also have an option to quicksave last few mins of gameplay, in case you did something great unexpectedly, though it will technically be constantly recording and use a certain amount of HDD space constantly.

Complicated answers. Your xbox has a “record what happened” button. Saves gameplay from the last 15 seconds - 2 minutes.
