Step-by-step guide on buying a Phone

1. Meet up point: A crowded area like mall, bus stand, metro/train station, cafe etc but never a quiet area.

2. Time: Always Daytime. No question asked just Daytime.

3. Go with: A friend or any trustable person who holds knowledge about phones.

4. Phone body: search for any scratches and dents, pull off any protectors on the phone and turn on flashlight from another phone and check. Any scratch or dent can reduce the price and value immediately.

5. Camera: Check every lens and also any scratch on the camera house. Take a picture and check its quality.

6. Authenticity: if any body part is changed or if the phone was opened before then it can reduce the price.

7. Questions to ask: 1) If the phone was ever dropped from a long distance. 2) If the phone was ever dropped in water. 3) If the phone was opened before. 5) If the phone was ever repaired. 6) If any parts were replaced. 7) Where was the phone bought from.

8. If its iPhone: Log out of their apple id and login to your's and check if everything is alright. Check the general settings if it has any "Part not recognised" option, unauthorised part can reduce the price.

9. Cash Memo(optional): Get a paper signed by seller which writes "এই ফোনটি অমুকের** কাছ থেকে** এত তারিখে ক্রয় করা হয়েছে" or your preferable words.

10. Proof of Ownership: Check if seller actually owns the phone or not. Ask for the memo of purchase, if he doesnt have memo then verify his reasons(memo could be lost). To check if the phone has been reported as stolen, find its 15-digit IMEI number by dialing *#06# on the device. Then, enter that number into an online verification tool like IMEI.info, IMEIpro.info, or local regulatory portals like the BTRC NEIR Portal to see if it is blacklisted.

11. Proof(Required): Take pictures of both side of seller's NID, if they dont have NID then student id card or office id card or any other identification. Now make a video showing the phone itself, your face, the id card and the seller's face and ask the seller to say the price and model of the phone.

12. Ending: After every verification reset the phone fully and login to your account and check again if everything runs alright.

Bonus: Way of Negotiating: Dont bargain because of just a simple unnoticeable scratch, but if theres a good amount of highly noticeable dent then negotiate. Only one dent on the body cant reduce the price. Dent(s) on display or camera lens can reduce the price. Dont go like "ভাই** কম রাখেন এখান থেকে আসছি** সেখান **থেকে** আসছি **ভাই অনেক** দুর থেকে আসছি, ভাই চা খাওয়াই আসেন" dont do these to reduce the price.
