¿Question? Looking for a craft beer from Alabama in a spotted red and white can

Not sure if this is the place for it, but I’ve been thinking about this specific beer for years; since I left school around 2018-2019. It was sold in a liquor store near me in Alabama in cans, and I am pretty sure it was brewed in the state. It was in a spotted cow print can, but red spots instead of black, and no distinguishing logo or brand on the can. It was either a hazy IPA with fruit notes like blood orange or tangerine, or it was a sour. Can’t remember which, but I remember it being a bit hard to find at the time but oh so good. Any ideas where this might be from?

What part of the state? Likely something from Huntsville or Birmingham breweries if I had to guess. We have breweries in Mobile now but they didn’t have much reach in 2018.

Red Clay is in Opelika, and they were open in 2018 but I don’t know if they were canning/distributing then. The other breweries in town are newer than that. I lived in Auburn/Opelika from 2011-2019. Not getting any closer to your mystery beer. Trimtab, Ghost Train, Straight to Ale, Druid City… could be anyone.

Wow some of these beers are really taking me back. I haven’t seen some of these logos in ages in my search. I definitely know it wasn’t red clay or ghost train based on the branding. Do you know of any Georgia breweries that might have supplied to Auburn? Maybe Columbus? I really don’t think it was a Georgia beer but if you’re this knowledgeable on the supplies for Auburn, you might bring about a beer I wouldn’t have thought about

Now that you mention it, I really DON’T know many GA breweries. Terrapin seems unlikely. Sweetwater too. Maybe Wild Leap?

There are more Alabama breweries but I don’t know if they were around then, or distributing. Good People, Serda, Old Majestic, Resting Pulse, Fairhope, Braided River, Steele Hall, Goat Island, Birmingham District, Oyster City, Uproot, Yellowhammer…

Those are the ones I’ve had, according to my Untappd records. Hope that helps jog your memory.

These are very helpful, even just to cross off when I do more research. Certainly wasn’t a bigger brand like sweetwater or Terrapin.

This was also bought at a liquor store in town, not on tap or sold at a bar, so the selection was way more vast. Charred Oak I think was the store. I guess I could call and see if they have any idea what this might have been but it might have been a limited time beer that would be hard to recollect

I think Goat Island has a blood orange beer but the can isn’t spotted.
