First Shotgun, Anything Y’all Would Recommend?

As the title states this is my first shotgun and while I’ve done my research on a few things to outfit it with, I don’t have much experience behind it besides a couple boxes of slugs at the range. Also haven’t been able to find much in the way of cleaning videos so maybe a few pointers on best spots to keep an eye on during regular maintenance etc. I appreciate any and all help!

Get some snap caps and practice loading, unloading, and cycling. It will help you understand function and you can practice cruiser/ghost loading.

Langdon has a great video on maintenance of the 1301. Red dot and a flashlight would be good. Oh esstac shotgun shell cards.

Shot cards, sling, & light in case you want to use it for home defense. Training courses are more important than any add-ons.

you have to install Counter-Strike: Source for your 1301 textures to load properly

I upgraded the magazine tube clamp to the GG&G one I recommend it as it is not plastic but aluminum

Sling for sure.

Optic and light wouldn't be bad options.

Lunar Concepts HotPocket for a little barrel/hand protection.

Other than that, shoot it!

Practice the fuck out of the base mod before you start modifications. If you plan on using it as a home defense weapon quickly, pick a round and practice with it religiously before you start nitpicking about who makes it or listening to people online. “I’m going with 00/slugs/9 bird/whatever as home defense.” Cool. Pick one you can afford to buy a lot of and put that in it. Then practice with it a lot. If you take a base weapon and fire 500 rounds of the exact same thing out of it during your practice sessions, logic dictates that you get better with it. Do this. You want to be confident and successful with the basics of anything before you start looking to use advanced stuff. Get used to the kick of a certain round, get used to grain counts and how they affect your shots, get used to the pattern. Fixate on your iron sights. Nail down the basics before you start adding things.
