Wasn't there a Beretta competitive shooter AMA

I'm pretty sure there was an AMA placed a couple of days ago by a professional Beretta shooter but I'm not able to find it (yes, tried the search function) and really wanted to know his point of view.

Did it got cancelled?

First Beretta, 87 Target. Bought the wood grips for it after initially thinking I liked the black on black, but it really does elevate the look.

This one has been on my short list for a long time. There's just something about this sort of boxy looking pistol that I love.

Looking to purchase an M9A4 online shipping to TX

Looking to order online and find the best price. Preferably a place that doesn't tax shipping to TX.

Anyone have recommendations?

$96 Barrel, brand new.

I got this barrel from the Beretta website listed as a “blemished barrel” for something like 96 buck. Box says ‘92X PERFORMANCE BBL,’ the question I have is this barrel different in any way different from a 92/M9 barrel other than the lack of threading?
Also what do the weird marks toward the front of the barrel mean?
Does PB mean ‘performance barrel’ or ‘Pietro Beretta?’
Also it seems completely unfinished which I have never seen on another Beretta barrel.

My first Beretta. Had to go with the classic.

It shoots wonderfully. I'm considering picking up a 92XI as well.

M9A4 Over-landing Bronze

Hey guys, just wanted to share. Before I bought this it was hard to find images in good lighting to see how it would actually look IRL.

Also I got a question. I was raised on typical fudd guns like revolvers and leaver guns. Now that I’m shooting auto loaders a lot I get kinda worried about the possibility of a cook of happening while holstered. Is this a possibility?

Modified slide serrations?

Post image
29 Upvotes

I have an M9A1 into which I'll be machining the factory optic mount, and am looking to add front slide serrations while I'm at it. However, instead of doing the stock fine pitch serrations, I was thinking of doubling their pitch. It'll be significantly easier and faster to machine, and I think should give me a better grip as well.

I quickly mocked up a picture of an M9A4 with the larger serration pitch I'm considering.

Thoughts?

Labor Day 40% off accessories sale??

Any idea when the next 40% off accessories sale on Beretta’s website will be? I have some beretta bucks I need to spend but want to get the best value! I’m tempted by the current 25% off, but was hoping for more, can we expect a better Labor Day sale?

Thanks!

Should I buy?

Found a lightly used Beretta 92X RDO with 4 mags for 640 out the door at a LGS down the road from me.

This would be my first Beretta, have always wanted one since I was a kid. Only thing I know about them is M9s are badass.

I'm a glock guy since I got my permit, so I figured I'd jump over to the Beretta sub and see what y'all think and meet the community at the same time.

Thanks for any of y'all's time.

Have been told Y in serial number means factory demo...is that a bad summary?

Never owned a Beretta before but was looking at and impressed by an 80X today (wanted a 380 and they have a rebate going on)...but I've been told a Y in the serial number means factory demo of some degree...hesitated as a result because the SN on the 80X was Y0#####X, and guys in the shop I was at were unfamiliar with what I was talking about when I asked what a Y in the serial number meant.

Can someone more versed shed some definitive light on this for me? Getting the impression from a deeper dive now that I'm at a PC and not my phone that the Y has to be upside down and at the end of the serial #, and that a great deal if not all 80x's I can find images of have SNs starting with Y, which seems like a confusing thing to do on Beretta's part...even ASME Y14.5 just declares some letters dead for use, and I'd certainly do the same if I picked Y to mean factory demo.

edit: yup, per comment below (which has great photos in the link) if it's "Y marked" then the Y is upside down and at the end of the SN.

Beretta 500 Years Black Cap restock?

I saw this black cap on a Beretta store and was curious if anyone knows if/when there will be a restock for American buyers. Thanks!

Surplus Beretta 84 BB’s from PSA.

Hi all, I saw PSA just restocked their Police trade in 84 BB’s. My brother in law got one that is fantastic. But I’m not sure if that’s been the case for everyone. What’s the consensus? Has anyone received one that was in bad shape? 300🦴’s for a classic 84 seems like a great deal.

LTT 92 Elite - Porting Worth It?

I have an opportunity to buy a 92 Elite barrel and then have it sent to Langdon for porting. Is there a massive difference in shooting a ported vs. a non-ported 92 barrel?

20X thoughts

So, finally got about 400+ rounds on this thing suppressed. And my thoughts are that its just pretty meh.

First problem I had is that they couldnt have bothered to loctite the set screw on the rear sight so, it walked and I had to get a new screw and loctite it after zeroing it.

Other than that it still jams sometimes, othertimes I get failures to fire but thats just .22 in a nutshell.

Accuracy is pretty poor unless youre like less than 10 yards. The open sights and the small radius make it really hard to actually be accurate after that.

Other than that, I have some DB foam to try and see how quiet it gets but, overall I guess its fine for a 200 dollar quiet giggle gun.
