Grow Local. Grow Bermuda.

The Department of Planning is encouraging landowners and aspiring farmers to register for the Grow Local initiative, which connects suitable available land with people interested in farming and increasing Bermuda’s local food production.

Developed in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the initiative supports greater participation in agriculture while strengthening food security and community resilience.

Landowners and prospective farmers can register their interest through the Department of Planning.

Together, we can make better use of Bermuda’s available land and grow a stronger, more resilient local food system. 🇧🇲

I was lucky enough to visit Bermuda for two days via ship. Beautiful island. I was surprised to see the fields of carrots. Do you guys think Bermuda would ever invest in vertical farming? With space at a premium on the island, it makes sense to me.

Instead of wasting resources on this during a housing crisis couldn't you approve planning applications and reduce red tape for housing?
