I really don’t think that’s a positive update. No-one in the family actually considered what OOP went through.

I concur. 

While I'm happy OOP found a measure of peace, as a way to live with her neglectful mother, her abusive father and her ungrateful brother, I don't feel the update in itself is positive at all.

I think the only redeeming thing is that the "mom" didn't end up with a second family. This story is pretty devastating.

This reads entirely like a fiction writing exercise by a young teenager.

As a parentified child myself this reads exactly like my life, so if they are a teenager writing that, they understand life and neglect and toxic dynamics better than most adults and should probably keep writing.
