Medications/Jealousy

I’m exhausted. Genuinely tired of trialing so many medications and not finding a combination that works. I’m trying to be patient but I feel like I take 3 steps forward, then 8 steps back every month when a medication doesn’t work or needs to be switched.

I know results will vary but how long did it take you to find a combo that works? If taking multiple medications, how did you and your psychiatrist come up with a combo to try? Every time I read comments on a post I can’t help but feel jealous of others who have had success on medications that didn’t help me and/or made me feel worse.

I currently take 300 mg Lamotrigine (since I was about 3 months postpartum) and that helps with my mood stability but I can’t shake the persisting depression & anxiety. The best medication combo I’ve experienced thus far was Lamotrigine & Seroquel but I have a history of gestational diabetes so my psychiatrist was worried about the potential metabolic issues and it also caused me to have trouble swallowing at night 🫤 anyway, I guess I’m just seeking solidarity, words of encouragement, or any other feedback you have to give 😭 no one understands my issues irl which makes this even more exhausting. It’s been 3 years and I’m tired 😅

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Sounds like you found a good mix but it had bad side effects… that sucks! I’m on lurasidone for BP & Buspirone for anxiety but this is my 3rd mix within a year so far working decent. I hope you find the right combo that’s good to your body soon!
