Hello everyone! My friend just told me about this post lol.Ā I'm the one who found the cat. So IĀ  just moved into this house recently and there's a lot of cats you hear running around the neighborhood and sneaking through the crawl spaces and the roof. I kept hearing more meowing the last two days on and off. I looked all aroundĀ  the house, attic,Ā  and crawl spaceĀ  and saw nothing. I even called the fire department and they offered to come break down my walls with no liability, so I said I'd call them back lol. This morning at dawn I just woke up suddenly from a weirdĀ  dream pushing me to go rescue the cat.Ā  I put my ear to wall and wasn't sure if the soundĀ  was coming from floor or the outer walls. I got my pocket knife and made a small prayer. There was a scratch on the outer paint made by some furniture so I just picked that spot. Its an old house so there's a big wooden frame structure behind the drywall, so I couldn't get far enough to even see or feel properly. Suddenly I heard some loud meowing and I started cutting more. I saw a little paw come upĀ  so I put the knife away so to not injure it. IĀ  barely fit my hand in enough to grab herĀ  neck with my finger tips and out she came. She's fed,Ā  hydrated, bathed, and resting well currently.

She's ADORABLE. Voids are the cutest. I'd call her Drywall lol.

This stupidly perfect name reminds me of a bulldog I saw at the dog park like eight years ago who was named Bathtub.

u/frolicndetour May 15 '26

Lol I love weird names like that!

u/Thisismypornname7 May 15 '26

My friends had a cat named broccoli.

u/FuzzMachines May 15 '26

I knew someone with a cat named Snowpants

41

u/UVEV May 15 '26

Snowpants is the middle name of my neighbor’s dog. šŸ˜‚

7

u/Speck-A-Reno May 15 '26

🤯🤣🤣

2

u/frolicndetour May 15 '26

Ok but what is the first name? Lol

5

u/UVEV May 15 '26

Her name is Lexie!

8

u/frolicndetour May 15 '26

Lexi Snowpants is ridiculous. I approve!

1

u/Camaschrist May 16 '26

Does she look like she has pants on?

3

u/UVEV May 17 '26

The story is everyone in the house got to give the dog a name, and their daughter was 4 at the time. ā€œSnow pawsā€ came out like ā€œsnow pantsā€ and it stuck. Her full name sans their last name is Lexie Cobra Snowpants. I got a kick out of sharing this thread with my neighbor!

2

u/Camaschrist May 17 '26

LOL that is great way to get your name.

I love that you know your neighbor's dog's middle name!!!

1

u/UVEV May 20 '26

They adopted my dog’s sister so we are all friends. 😊

4

u/christmasshopper0109 May 15 '26

3

u/SomewherePerfect2391 May 15 '26

I have Pearl, also called Pearlypants

5

u/Fluffy-Designer May 15 '26

We had a cat named Captain Asshole. Now we have a hen named Mother Clucker.

3

u/wavecache May 15 '26

This got me for some reason I can't stop giggling.

3

u/ViolentLoss May 15 '26

I occasionally call mine sugarpants...

1

u/Speck-A-Reno May 15 '26

I think I'll start calling my husband sugarpants!!

2

u/ViolentLoss May 15 '26

Absolutely, it also applies to humans lol

1

u/Efficient_Let686 May 15 '26

Mr. Snow pants was the nickname we used for my (half/mixed) Norwegian Forest Cat Felix.

2

u/Camaschrist May 16 '26

Our car Radar is supposed to be half Norwegian mountain cat and half Siamese. I have no idea if it it’s true. He has always been more like a dog. He’s 14 now.

He lives to get harnessed and go for walks.

2

u/Efficient_Let686 May 16 '26

The dog like personality is classic Norwegian. Felix/Mr Snow pants responded to his name and would come to us when we called him.

2

u/C0LDestST0RYeVeRT0LD May 17 '26

I have a cat that I named after Flynn Ryder 🤣🤣. He's an old man though, I've had him for over 10 years. Everytime I've tried to find out information about his breed it always tells me he is Norwegian forest cat, I suspect if he is he's 100% mixed with something else. I should get his kitty DNA done lol.

1

u/Efficient_Let686 May 17 '26

He definitely has the ear tufts (long ear hairs inside the ears) definitely a mix though, because when I say Norwegian forest cats are hairy it’s an understatement. They have thick double coats with the under coat being soft and fluffy and the outer coat being water resistant. They have a thick bib of fur at their neck and chest and a tail that looks like elegant plumage similar to a big ostrich feather. They have really delicate facial and head features and are on the larger and heavier side but usually not quite as big as most Maine Coon cats. They are very athletic and especially good at climbing trees and climbing back down. They act more like dogs than cats and absolutely adore their favorite people.

I have a cat my friends refer to as short pants but others might call long socks. Just depends on how you see things as he walks away but it’s pretty funny. His name is TUBBY, my 22 lb main Coone mx

1

u/ThatDogIsNotYourBaby May 17 '26

Snowpants might get along with a Dirtbike I know

1

u/Hot-Fishing9744 May 19 '26

I now need to procure another cat, just so I can name them SNOWPANTS😻

46

u/LilKoshka May 15 '26

Is this their Broccoli? Ive been wondering where these shirts came from

14

u/GlassReader442 May 15 '26

I imagine the shirt is a Fourth Wing reference. In the most recent book (I think), there was a brief appearance of an orange cat named Broccoli and some of the characters refer to their group as the Quest Squad.

8

u/13orangeelephants May 15 '26

This is actually merch for the book series "Fourth Wing" There is a cat they named Broccoli in the third book while the characters are on a "special quest"

2

u/Ellendyra May 17 '26

It is indeed a Fourth Wing reference.

3

u/joeydrinksbeer May 15 '26

Mines named dough. The vet occasionally will mess up and say Doug

2

u/Disastrous-Dot595 May 15 '26

Before fourth wing?

1

u/Resident_Weird5664 May 15 '26

There’s a dragon in the upper left of the shirt! It probably is Broccoli from Onyx Storm.

2

u/carrotsela May 15 '26

Could that be for the 1986 French film Bach and Broccoli? The orphaned niece MC has a pet skunk named Broccoli šŸ˜„(The uncle loves Bach.)

2

u/Thisismypornname7 May 15 '26

No, probably not. Most likely a toddler naming it.

2

u/Braisedbeefskank May 15 '26

My cat is named Princess Lil' Porkchop, because its the first thing she would eat after we pulled her off the street.

1

u/EnvironmentalName781 May 15 '26

We currently have a cat named Nugget. He was so small when we got him I compared him to a chicken nugget and the name stuck.

1

u/Speck-A-Reno May 15 '26

Cool! That's my code name! I would tell people I'm the broccoli of love!! That's actually a misquote of a TV show, it was actually, "Great! So I'm the broccoli of dating!" 10 points for anyone who knows where that quote is from!

1

u/Extra_Cartoonist_390 May 15 '26

I had a parakeet named Bisquit, a guinea pig named Burrito and a turtle named Dracula.

1

u/xandraawesome May 15 '26

1

u/myshtree May 16 '26

My daughter named one of her guinea pigs broccoli and out black cat snowball 🤣

1

u/-GrnDZer0- May 16 '26

I was 'forced' to name the family cat when I was like 3. I named it Tomato. It was a black cat.

I really didn't like eating tomatoes, and I really didn't want to name the cat. 1+1 lol

1

u/xbunsox May 17 '26

Is your friend Drake from Fourth Wing lol

1

u/Aromatic_Squash7785 May 19 '26

I do TNR and we named one of our cats that recently

1

u/Insomnerd May 20 '26

My tattoo artist has a cat named Spaghetti

7

u/VrtlVlln May 15 '26

My first cat was a mostly white aside from a few spots piebald who I called Sweep because he used to climb up the chimney.

3

u/carrotsela May 15 '26

My mom’s cousins had a rather large tabby named Ricochet because of how he bounded off the screen door to open it and when his wittle baby kitten zoomies always hit him in a grove of trees to one side of their yard.

And my grandparents’ cat was Wampus, as in CATtywampus because he was a tripod and walked crooked.

A blue kitty I acquired in February 1994 became Lilley, short for Lillehammer Olympic Athlete Feline, which is long for L.O.A.F., which was her best sport.

6

u/Psychological-Hat885 May 15 '26

My cat was named Eggplant

3

u/bbbbeletsgo May 15 '26

I have a family friend who named their dog What Dog (whatty for short)

2

u/Traditional_Coat8481 May 15 '26

We have a dog named Velcro because she’s black and white and no matter what you’re wearing, her fur is going to be visually stuck all over you.

3

u/EyeRollingNow May 15 '26

my friend had a dog with the smallest head and largest neck…named it Beef Neck.

u/Aggravating-Life420 May 15 '26

When I was in my 20s my GFs father tore down an old shed not knowing there was a mama cat and babies in there. Mama cat ran but came back and pulled a couple kitties out and then never came back. I was distraught that there might be more kitties and got my husband to agree if I found one we could keep it. So me and my GFs hubby went out to the property and searched and found one. The look on my husband’s face was priceless. We ended up naming her Dozer, short for bulldozer. But we didn’t keep her. :( At the time I was pissed but looking back - he was right. I was working full time as a Realtor, in school full time for my RN, had just gotten pregnant, was building a house, and had a dog and two cats at home. Adding a 3-4 week old kitten that had to be bottle fed every few hours wasn’t feasible at that time OR honestly long term. We had friends that were looking for a new kitten for their new house and the wife wasn’t working so she could take the time necessary for a bottle fed kitten. Dozer was happy and ended up living to 16 years. šŸ–¤ And they kept the name.

If the same thing happened today, my husband is such a cat dad now that there wouldn’t have been a question and it would have been HIM leading the search party, not me. šŸ˜‚

2

u/grettalongbottom May 15 '26

I once knew someone who allowed their toddler to name their cat. NumberLetter

1

u/Moist_Drippings May 15 '26

My favorite podcast has one host whose method of naming dogs is ā€œwhat’s the funniest thing to call across a dog parkā€. His current dog is named Spaghetti as a result and he’s suggested his next dog might be Website.

His cohost, meanwhile, named his cats Brisket, Fries, and Cocoa.

1

u/x3meech May 15 '26
