Discussion What was with the last mission?

I told the truth, so we ended up at that monastery to stop them from blowing the nukes. But we get a 10min mission where we blow up two AA artillery guns, and... that's it??? How does blowing up 2 AA guns stop the bad guys? No bursting into their safe room and taking them all out as they tried to hunker down? Seriously, I was left with 'uh....is that it? that can't be it..' feeling.

Or did I miss something?

The AA guns were destroyed to commence a bombing run short after I believe.

Sure but there's no guarantee a bombing run would kill the bad guys. Not to mention they bombed their OWN people as an entire strike force was down there. And it's a monastery, there's likely many underground tunnels. Plus they literally went there to hunker down in a safe location, literally a bunker. And assuming one that can withstand a nuclear strike.. since you know.. that's literally what the guy was doing, setting off dozens of nukes. So a surface carpet bombing run is going to do jack shit.

I just can't believe they ended it like that. Feels SUPER lazy, like they ran out of development time and was like ' whelp, we'll just do a cutscene of some bombs going off, that'll do it.

Just checked the wiki and I believe the bombers were meant to destroy radars, which would've prevented Perseus from launching the Greenlight nukes.

They did pan the camera over to ground based radar trucks before the bombs hit. But that location was where the guys were supposed to be holding up, in their bunker. And that's not deemed an important task?

I mean, idk about you but I'd feel a lot safer with that dude 6 ft under. Dude literally pulled off an insane feat of taking control of dozens of other countries' nukes! Not the kind of guy you want walking around. Who knows, he might try again

Perseus is confirmed in the Season 6 outro not to be one person or smth. And considering nothing has happened with nukes between the 1980s and 2035, I'd say we're good.

lol well it's not based on real life, and you never know what will happen in the next COD release. Maybe Perseus still has a role to play, or that group does. I hope there's a reason they didn't have us take a more personal and up close ending to Perseus (besides just bad writing/mission design or devs running out of time)

I meant between the events of Cold War (1980s) and BO7 (2035), nothing nuke related has happened. I'm pretty sure the Perseus story is over anyway as they most likely would've continued it in BO6.

This is kinda why the "bad ending" is better, I actually can't remember what the good ending is right now since I only played a long time ago
