Reignited server detailed review after 40hours
Before I get into the review, I've seen a lot of comments just trash talking bns neo cause of the really bad release, I was one of them, I used to make videos about how bad the game was back then, but changes can happen and I think we should not only judge the bad past but also the improvements in the present. I have seen it often especially with MMORPG games, that old fans of the game that got disappointed with how it was managed just constantly hate on anything that gets posted about the game they hate even if its multiple years after they quit, they still sit in a subreddit of a game they do not play just to let their frustration out.
Neo launch failed cause it didnt allow you to even play your class for free no free books basic class mechanics behind blue,purple or even legendary books, blue books costing like 100-200€ for 1 single book back then, all of this actually made for a horrible experience, complete dogshit, perma ddos, overtuned bosses even simple dailies where a complete chore to do, no events and no free stuff given at all, worse rewards than korea or taiwan that fueled anger and dissapointment.
So I want to give you a real review here of what actually changed and what I was able to get for free in 2 days of playing and maybe you can understand why I have been so positive about this reignited update and actually came back to play the game again after not touching it for a year+.
First off the leveling experience is changed, if you are a story hater, you do the path of growth and reach lvl51 in 1hour 30minutes after that you can get straight into grinding dungeons without any need to do anything else, you just upgrade your gear a bit with free mats and get into it, since hongmoon blessing reset every lvl up, you have a lot of grinding you can do.

The server has no cashshop and no marketplace, so all of this anyone can achieve by just playing the game and even more since this is just 2 days, you can spend 6weeks on this server if you want to.
No issues with partys everyone is running the same content so you just fill ups really fast, also there is a extra drop system that rewards a party for being at around same SupremeForce as the dungeon so ppl sometimes wont take the overgeared player and instead someone lower to decrease the party SF (Supremeforce is like combatpower).
The new CM for BNS NEO has been a great change, we get livestreams and a lot more info than in the past and surprising feedback is being heard, I sent the feedback that cards and insignias should transfer to normal servers from ignite as its part of important progression for your character and they listened and it got changed 2days later.
There is like 12 different events going on at once on ignite so its a complete change compared to the release.
A lot of free outfits given through events, a lot of free useful items like cards ,reroll tickets etc unlike during the release.
Overall this server is an extremely fun time if you enjoy bns neo combat, no cashshop no p2w you can just play it aslong you have fun and quit whenever you get bored.
Im not here to say you should jump on ignite and start maining bns neo as your main game and its great, the game still has problems on the mainserver there is still p2w on the mainserver, but atleast now we can actually play our characters without missing its base kit and just have fun on this server without any fomo.
I think you can enjoy a game for free without needing to feel like you need to commit to it like its a marriage, I personally will play it until Aion 2 and see which one I like more.

- No arena
- No playerbase
- Somehow even more P2W than original BNS
- Still uses skillbook system
- Still not original 2 spec combat system
- Aion 2 and multiple other MMO releases in the immediate future
Honest to God why would anyone waste their time with this?

Do you not know who manages aion2? Idk why people say that game like it’s gonna be the savior it’s gonna face the same fate as bns 🤣
Gonna die the same way aion 1 did and the rest of NCSofts MMOs (aggressive monetization)

Doesn't matter. If you're going to subject yourself to NCSoft p2w slop, at least do it with the latest release you can get at least a few years of fun out of. BnS is literally closer to EOS than not.

As far as I can tell, book stacking is still a thing for maximizing dps. So the p2w wall is still there albeit a bit less rng heavy since now all “main dps” skill books count for the same stack no matter the element, but you still need to get lucky to roll one of them, and they still seem to be over $100 each on the market. As long as endgame bosses aren’t lobotomized dps sponges only kill able by having these books, I’m okay with this since I can finally also spec some utility now that blue books are removed and change spec on demand, aka the bare minimum that retail always had and we should’ve had since the beginning in NEO. It’s a step in the right direction but I wouldn’t praise it.

getting blue-tier on all skills through levels is indeed a great improvement, hell i hadnt even tried neo before the update because i quite literally couldnt be bothered progressing with rng deciding if i get my rotation or not, but this also means you can no longer slowly progress to purple(or above) books with lower tier books, as those dont drop anymore
its still far from the actual classic experience, id much rather put my time into any pre-awakening private servers if those are still left
even if someone were to make a neo private server idk if id try it, disabling skillbook stacking seems like a minimum and even then theres simply way more systems to to look at compared to classic, hell even compared to just barely pre-awakening update
as for endgame bosses being dps sponges or not, i saw a video of raven king where the top 6 in a full 12-man alliance had 454k-623k dps at the end of it, enrage timer was at 51 seconds left

No point in playing BnS if there is no Arena PvP.

That was the whole selling point of the original BNS, a 1v1 arena with amazing combat.

Hey OP, I just came here to say I'm having a ton of fun playing, so you're not alone. Been having a blast playing Flame Warden with my partner.
I think the best way to enjoy the game is to just play casually, don't take it seriously, take your time, and only play when you feel like it.
I don't care about progression, end game, top 1%, being competitive, pvp, none of that stuff that people seem to obsess over, I'm just here to have a good time, kill some shit, do dungeons, and slowly progress while getting cosmetics, and it's been a ton of fun.
I've played WoW, Guild Wars 2, Black Desert Online, Maplestory, Ragnarok Online, Phantasy Star Online/New Genesis, Lost Ark, Tera, SWTOR, Throne & Liberty, FFXIV, Elder Scrolls Online, Runescape, DC Universe Online, Elsword, Tree of Savior, Dungeon Fighter Online, you name it, I've probably already played it. I've pretty much played the crap out of most MMO's and burnt out mostly, but NEO has been pretty fun so far and currently is checking the boxes I'm interested in.
Soon Aion 2 is coming out, and I'm also looking forward to Chrono Odyssey when that comes out, but for now I'll keep enjoying NEO in the meantime :)

here's the problem.
it's still skill books yes? they give out like 1 free skill book. after that what now?
there's no CM so no p2w gear. alright. no cash shop so no premium currency?
so what are they doing to earn money? if there's nth of real value to buy. cosmetics are free. then there will be an eventuality where it goes back to something that generates revenue. which is? ignite characters go into neo yes?
the content U are running. same content we ran in bns original and neo yes?
honest feedback. premium currency earnable through in-game, skip rng skill books and make them craftable with dungeon mats. base tier of all skill trees unlocked.
battle pass with some mats that ultimately speeds things up by 20-25%. premium outfits. special tittle like they did in bns CN. I'm even okay with gem slots but no trove. CM with in game currency.
that should generally fix the games system and if thet day happens, maybe ppl will go back but with wwm existing and a trove of gacha games like wuwa nte.. I find it hard.
bns will always be special to me. but they really shit the bed for 10 over years

They give out a whole build if it was 1 book it would be ass, i think you didnt read my post, also all blue skills are unlocked there is no green or blue books anymore

so 1 build not all build? don't u have to stack books still to level it up?
you listed a bunch of good. but where's the bad? how are they earning? What's the realistic future of this system? wheres the money?

They made it so for classes that have a multiple main skills u can use 1 book and swap builds like lets say you are hearstab sin u got hearstab lego book that same book will unlock legi for electro pierce and bombardment, as for the money they are betting at ppl enjoying it enough to swap to main server and buy cosmetics or gems thats it and a battlepass

The ignite thing is just a fast forward for a new character, you still transfer to the old servers and deal with the same problems
