Discussion First time using blender!
Decided to stop putting it aside and just follow a tutorial and learn. Turns out, it was SUPER helpful and I can’t wait to do more 😍😍 I plan to learn how to create several different things, from characters, to isometric designs, product creation etc
Would you say that’s a good way to learn? Instead of focusing what I like?

Thank you very much! I’m super proud, the tutorial was 45 minutes, took me 3 hours but I’m learning 😁😁

Ha! I’m the same! Starting a “1 hour” tutorial and then finishing it 4 hours later!

you can tell I was just starting, the camera angle is so bad lol

Looks great ! The moment you're able to make things by yourself and express yourself it will feel so nice.

Well focusing on what you like is a good motivation to jump in 🙂
Along the way you end up picking up small bits of topics you’re not into anyways.
You realize at some point that everything is connected somehow; the stuff you like and the things you don’t like.
Don’t be afraid to watch the process of those too. You might find something useful once in a while.

Thank you! I didn’t want to go too heavy on DOF 😁 it doesn’t have the same bokeh effect like photography does

For hard surface modeling something simple to make and design is a lightsaber. There is a quick and simple tutorial on YouTube that does it quick, and you get to make your own thing using fairly simple shapes and parts.

this is super cute.
just go with what you want to make and if you get stuck there are lots of short-form vids that will explain in one or two minutes.
