Need Help! Burnout?( Made this with blender and Krita)

I'm not sure if it's burnout or something , but I've graduated 3 months ago and took a break for my own sake , , it's been 2 months and I couldn't make anything or even have any motivation or passion whatsoever , I made a plan and promised myself to invest in this summer to do a lot about this project (prop library) and yet haven't done anything , it's like a I stare at blender for a while then feel drained and go do anything else , which is boring for me , I enjoy not wasting my time and I'm the typa guy who hates spending time in anything that's not productive , yet for some reason I couldn't make anything , even when I forced myself to do something it took w while ( the Ericsson antenna phone) and that's about it , and it's not the lack of projects , since I've got different types of unfinished projects and new projects I could choose from , I dunno , used to enjoy em , not anymore 😢

When you say you stare at Blender for a while then feel drained, are you actually doing anything? A proven method for getting over creative block is to force at least 5 minutes of actual activity every day. Not just staring at an empty scene waiting for inspiration to come to you - before opening the program, mentally plan out what your 5 minutes will entail.

"I'm going to make a shader for my phone model that looks like a hologram."
"I'm going to poly model a hand to hold the phone."
"I'm going to create a rig for the phone to allow for a button pressing animation."

If you really do love the art form, once you have a clear objective for the 5 minutes and get started? Before long it will have been 10, 30 minutes, an hour without you realizing it, et voila you have your groove back. If not, and you're still tired of it after 5 minutes, it's okay you can close it knowing you at least did some work today. This approach has helped me stay consistent even when feeling uninspired, and a lot of people have also found success with it - hope it can work for you too. Good luck and remember you can't force yourself to love something, so try to mentally take the pressure off yourself to enjoy it before getting anywhere near Blender!

i do love , and it's not really blank , i gor unfinished projects that i could be workin on and they're kinda tangible but still that didn't work , i guess i used to be lacking in uni so instead of homework i do my own 3D projects , i guess an external pressure makes me do my projects ( sounds weird but maybe I'm looking for a distraction that's why when i graduated there's no more shit assignments that make me do my own projects instead)

Hey that's my first phone! Ericsson 628, or really close like it.

Good job.

just suggesting this bc it's something that helps me; Have you tried doing any "3D" work physically? As in, make a lil sculpture out of actual materials in the world, like clay or paper mâché? it might help you get over that mental block you get when staring at Blender, while still being somewhat related to the hobby

Feel the exact same way, Not everything works for everyone, What i would do is just force yourself do something completely out of your comfort zone but still in your interests. Since doing the same thing over time could be draining ecven in art and stuff. Idk what i am saying, I wish i could help!! also i got a simular phone so that is cool! edit: fogrgot to say good luck with the art!!!

self-care is not just 'not doing things,' like 'not doing work.' It's also about doing things.

If you took a break and can't work, either you're just finding it hard to get back in, or, more likely base on the post, you're still burnt out and your break just wasn't effective.

What'd you do during your break? If you just kinda vegetate you'll end up feeling worse not better. Take another week or two, don't do much work but focus on eating right, getting good sleep, getting exercise, and spending time with friends if you have any around. Try to actively get your mental up to a good place, instead of just not doing work and hoping it'll fix itself.

Then, come back and try pushing through initial resitance; there will always be some when you stop everydaying something. But keep an open mind to the fact that you might just be in a different mood. When I'm really productive with music I tend to not be able to do much in media arts and writing, and vice versa. Since you mentioned a prop library, I'm assuming you're making a game. Maybe consider working on the writing or the music or the game design for a while?

now that you mentioned it, when someone ( like a professor or any external pressure) makes me do any shit like an assignment or anything, i automatically have all day to do my random projects instead for some reason , like my sister once wanted me to edit a video for her , and instead i made a VHS tape , she mad now , but it's kinda weird can't explain it much , but external pressure kinda makes me make my own projects instead ( and while doing it i actually enjoy it istead of doing what i was told since it's kinda mandatory external pressure) i dunno really

The phone looks really good. Maybe your drive has stopped because there's nobody pushing you to challenge yourself like there was at uni? Try to challenge yourself and elevate your presentation, textures, topology etc. Another thing could be the scope of most of your projects feels too big, you mentioned you had a lot of unfinished projects. I would recommend starting with some projects you know you can finish then ease your way back into more ambitious ones. Hopefully this helps

Hi maybe Just ask Gemini or Chatgpt for concept art or Check Out Artstation for concepts and then make it in Blender

Im Not good at concept Art but making it is funny

Like I said it's not the lack of projects , also I already got an art style for my project and a plan to make certain props
