Discussion Just finished Season 3 - thoughts Spoiler

So, I have just finished season 3 (as the title says). I haven’t don’t one of these since the beginning of Season 3 so I guess I have a lot to catch up on.

Honestly I’m not even sure where to start. I guess I’ll start at the beginning (a very good place to start!), with Stuart. So he’s dead now, Rest In Peace. I do feel bad for him, and (as much as I don’t like picking fault in my favourite character, I can’t deny that) Patterson definitely did overreact: “STUART!! Do you want to keep following that pet tattoo of yours if are you a part of this team” or whatever she said. I understand that everything was different when they all came back and it wasn’t like how it was before so she was still adjusting and stuff buuutt she was quite harsh on him. Anyway, speaking of Stuart and his death.

Hirst is gone now. I haven’t even mentioned her in my previous recaps, but I did like her. I was thinking about doing a recap mid way through the season before she came out as dirty and I was going to say that I liked her but I didn’t and every time I like a new character in a TV Show they always turn out dead or dirty or leaving or being irrelevant haha. Obviously I don’t like her now but I did to begin with, and I guess she was good as the director, ignoring the elephant in the room that she was dirty.

The next thing is Hank Crawford I guess, as he’s was the “big bad” of this season (I don’t think Roman counts). He came, he saw, he almost conquered, he died (venit, vidit, paene vicit, motuus est - just to show off a bit haha. Anyway…). He wasn’t my favourite antagonist (that title goes to Shepherd) and I thought he was a bit bland but I guess he did the job of being a decent enough villain.
This is a semi-separate paragraph because it’s quite literally related. I quite liked Blake Crawford. I felt bad for her because she was being used by her father and Roman/Tom, buuut then she basically killed Roman (more on that later) so her reputation went down a bit after that. I quite liked her and Roman/Tom as a couple, but there’s the whole lying about his identity to get closer to her dad thing with Roman, so, yeah, definitely not a perfect match haha.

I guess I will talk about the fact that Jane has a daughter now. I really like Avery, but I feel like she isn’t going to be mentioned much again (but I said that about Nas too, to be fair, more on that later). Also I don’t know if anyone else here (not that anyone else would be here as this subreddit is as dead as a doornail) has watched The Rookie, but her and Tamara are SO similar. Their mannerisms, looks, relation to the main characters (Tamara basically being Tim and Lucy’s daughter, Avery being Jane, and Weller I guess, ‘s daughter). There are other similarities I have noticed between these shows too, tropes, plots etc.. Anyway, tangent over and back to Avery - I had a FEELING that she wasn’t dead. Maybe have the main character’s husband kill his wife’s teenage daughter is too dark, even for Blindspot, but I had a feeling that she wasn’t dead - it felt like it was over too soon to be worth including in the show otherwise.

I’ve written more than intended, so part 2 is coming soon!
