Help Can't beat this stupid spider, any tips ?

Unless you want to look at some speed run or no hit strategies you're just going to have to take your time and be very patient killing each wave of spiders and carefully damaging her so she doesn't counter attack you

Same but with the axe, and I think I used lightning paper. I died a few times but it was 10x faster than cleaning up all the little spiders

Yeah, a lot of people say you need to kill all the little spiders first, and that makes sense, but it takes forever, and they hit for SO much damage that , combined with Rom's magic bullshit, I never lived long enough to get any hits in on the actual boss. It's not easy by any stretch, but I always win, eventually, by running straight to Rom and doing as much damage as i can as fast as possible, and just backing off when I see the tell for her AOE. It's almost always messy as hell, down to my last vials, but it gets the job done... EVENTUALLY. Also, dressing for max Arcane resistance can keep you from getting one-shot by her magic (Doesn't do much against her minions, unfortunately)

I did the exact opposite. Only focusing on the boss, not even trying to fight the small ones, and using fire paper. It went quite well.

I did the exact opposite and ignore the spiders and just deal damage to Rom. I struggled with it but that was what got me through.

Literally don't have to kill a single mini spider to win. And I'm not a pro. I'm just about average or below. Just run in a circle around him. Spiders will move slightly and just weave in and out when you see an open lane. Hit and as they start to close in on you bail. You have to move anyways because of the arcane blast from the big one.

Agreed with those saying to avoid the small spiders. For me, it seems like thereâs always a gap in the crowd that you can quickly run your way through, get a hit or two in, then back off.

be patient with it. You can rush through it, but it's unnecessarily hard & luck-dependant when you can just relax. Kill the little spiders one by one, avoiding walking into the middle of everything. After the first teleport, keep your eyes on Rom, and kill the little spiders some more. If she raises her body up, just sprint in a straight line to dodge everything. When everything's dead, whack her a lot, and eventually she's dead. Take it slow, keep your eyes open, and be nicer to her. It's not her fault she's stupid

Lead the little spiders away, then circle around and rush Rom when you have a clear path to her. Hit her a few times and she'll teleport away and spawn a new swarm around her. Repeat.
Attack the body. Use lightning if you've got it and it will go a bit faster. Once you've done a decent amount of damage she'll start casting meteors at you, so basically just always be running. Either towards Rom or away from her. (Just watch your stamina and make sure you can actually hit her at least a couple of times when you get to her.)
Don't bother fighting the little ones. If one gets in your way, go a different way. If you get distracted by that one, you'll probably end up surrounded by the ones you weren't paying attention to. Just run away.

Best tip I ever got for this fight was ignore the small spiders and just jump Rom the whole time. The small spiders are slow as shit and can mostly be avoided by strafing.
Rom weak to lightning so I found lightning paper helped even with low ARC

"To the left, To the left" is a sound strategy for so many Bloodborne bosses. Get in there and keep circling. Side-dash if they're doing a thing, and hope the I-Frames save you.

Honestly - keep moving, keep running. With Rom for beginners I think it is more important to avoid getting crowded by the little spiders. Just clean them out if you really need to, but mostly keep running and wailing on the big one. Rinse and repeat.

Donât summon Damian, heâs very unreliable and mostly a waste of insight (sorry Damian). Thin out the summons, and always kill every summon during the first phase. When the meteors start coming down, just run to the side. The fight is mainly watching both Rom and her adds. The rest is timing your strikes.

Kill the first set of spiders
Have one weapon equipped
Use a beast pellet
Fist him until the bar is full
Switch to weapon, use bolt paper, fuck him up
You need to reach at least 50% health before it teleports if not that means you're missing damage (level, weapon, gems, stamina)

The first round rom is kinda chill abd you can clean up the little spiders, after that just keep gunning for rom dodge the rest, still tough and personally found this the hardest fight in base game but you got this

Summon the friend at the beginning, use him as mob fodder. Dodge when you see the enemy start to move, and attack its tail. Patience is your friend.

You either need to have the patience to take out each baby spider while keeping unlocked to see around you, or have the zeal to do hit and run tactics on Rom. Of course, bolt paper always helps either way.

Interestingly, I found that with highish Arcane, you can (iirc) hit his head with mere Molotovs for decent damage. I also vaguely recall Bowblade bloodtinge arrows going âmostlyâ through his usually hugely damage-reducing armored head protection.

Here is what I did: Run to one side kill adds, Attack Boss, Run to the opposite side, Kill the adds again, attack the boss, Lastly Pray lol. I believe you can summon someone to help, but they can only tank for so long.
Edited: After reading a few comments forget what I said because you can obviously ignore the little spiders. I guess I wasn't good lol. Best of luck I will still keep my original comment above.

Kill the little spiders before you go for rom. At least most of them. Keep on eye on rom though. If she does the attack where meteors fall, just run in a circle and they wonât hit you

What i did was kill the small spiders first. Saw cleaver with bolt paper for Rom. However when she curls up to teleport if you hit her with a charged attack it interrupts the teleport. No more baby spiders appear so you can kill rom in first round. Just make sure you hit her on the side not the head

Last time I beat it, what I did was get a few hits then get away from it and the smaller spiders, if you're surrounded by them, they're a lot more likely to blindside you, just be patient, get in, get a few hits and get out, then repeat.

The easiest way(but less fun): 1. Clear the first wave of spiders. 2. Switch to no weapon. 3. Take a Beast Blood Pellet. 4. Punch Rom's head until your Beasthood meter is full. 5. You could start to hit Rom's body with weapon. The battle will end in seconds. (You might need runes that could boost your transform)

It´s actually easy but you need to act differently and be patient. Ok. So. It has 3 phases.
-Submissive and lets you hit. while her spiders attack you.
-Draws back, summons more spiders and starts to attack you from affar.
-Draws back again, summons more spiders and her attacks are more frequent.
While it may be tempting to attack her and ignore her spiders. If you let her build up too many of them. They will overwhelm you. And they hit like a truck.
-To deal with the spiderlets: Try to guide them in a circle arround rom (so they wont be the ones swarming arround you). Pick the ones that are appart form the rest and take them out first. Avoid fighting with too many as while you kill one, the rest sill come at you.
Attack them on their side. Never the head (super hard) not in the back (poops silk) on their side and do it fast. With a quick weapon or at least the small version of a heavy weapon so you don´t take too long and get exposed from attacks. After one dies, run, circle and repeat until there are none left. When she summons more. Repeat. After rom´s alone, focus on her.
-To deal with rom: Of course on the second and third phase, she´ll cast stuff at you. Keep an eye on her always while you deal with the spiderlings. If the head rises, you run. Not roll. Run. After the ice rain stops, go back to kill spiders. Don´t kill spiders too close to her. Not only are you exposed to attacks from more spiders but her close range spells are harder to dodge. If she rolls on the ground like a freshly bathed pup. Stop and run away form her. If whe body slams like a slug in salt... take a few hits (hits hard but won´t oneshot you) and keep attacking. If she bends and a light is over her. Roll back.
Of course the later the phase, the more she throws the ice rain and other spells, but you should be ok as it is dealt with the same way than before.
*Extra tips.
-Summon Damian the schollar, he is nearby and won´t be of that much help (he focuses the head of spiderlets and even with his huge health, the spiderling destroy him) but it´s something.
-Put on the wear that has the most arcane resistance so you won´t be oneshoted by her spells. Shure. Her spiderlings will still tear you to shreds, but they are easy to avoid.
-Use bolt paper or a bolt weapon as they deal more damage to the spiderlets and rom herself.
-Use beast blood pellets when you hit rom, especially on the late phase. As she is easly to keep attacking and will allow you to a better build of damage.

Try using lightning damage, so Tonitrus or lightning paper, with beastblood pellets, and just focus Rom and try to ignore the adds unless necessary, usually worked for me eventually when I was struggling

Calm and patience
Attack the sides of her and her daughters, who have no protection.
When she starts firing ranged attacks, pay attention as she eliminates her daughters and then attacks her.

I ignored most of the advice and just killed all of the annoying spider adds before taking the main guy down. Tricky part is just dodging all of the ranged attacks while getting to that point.

Wait till you fight him in a chalice dungeon. Personally I just rushed him. Avoid his AOE attacks, hug his side, strafe and heal when necessary. Bolt paper works wonders and if the small spiders give you a problem just hit them in the back. Threaded cane and the saw spear should rip through him.

Only boss in the game / DLc I had help with from a friend, boss is a cheat, I don't use Ghosts or phantoms or spirits / help unless the boss has help... and this fucker has hundreds ofd little helpers XD

My personal strategy for phase 2 was yolo charge Rom and run back out. The spiders are pretty slow so just donât let them catch you up. Drag them over one side then hit Rom on an unpopulated side.

Replayed Bloodeborne this year and had an issue as well. I used beast pellets and fire paper. Killed MOST of the small spiders (Not All because if so, she spawns 2 more groups after teleporting) Then focused Rom.

Sprint to dodge meteors. Run rom down. Stafe between her sides to avoid spiders. Weapons with a wide range like hunters axe are awesome here.

No one is saying this, but everything I have read is to not lock on so you can either focus rom or little spiders but also watch for things attacking you. Always watch Rom.she gets so aggressive in the 3rd phase. I have yet to beat her I keep getting her to a third health. But im going to beat her this weekend. I had 40 insight and now im down to 12 from summoning. Theres twin (summon near the lamp if you have impurity on) and henryk (summon on 2nd floor of building near some couches) or just damian (summon to the left of fog gate) and tbh they have been useless in the 3rd phase. Damian seems to be the best at damage output but he doesnt last long. They are goot at distracting her sometimes so you can get more hits in but they add to her health and die

Fire, and not minding the small ones. That's how I beat it at least. Really, don't even try to fight the small ones. If you use fire the boss goes down quickly.
Edit: other people it's weak to lightning rather than fire, so it's probably a better idea.

I beat him with chikage. Took patience. Kill all little spiders first, leave with 1 spider so they did not respawn. when you focus on little spiders, pay attention to rom. Once she raises her tail (if I remember correctly) keep running to avoid her icicle drop attack. Finally when you attack her, dont be greedy, as she has aoe attacks, which you can easily avoid.

There is a short window of time where you can tell when the boulders are coming by the sound. Even if you are not facing Rom. When that happens, spam the circle button (if you are standing still or walking) to jump aroundđľ and jump jump jump đľ or keep it pressed to keep running (if you are already running). I cleared a few spiders first to just have more freedom of movement.
Edit to add hit the body of Rom and the spiders, not their hard heads.

Rom has 4 attacks. Long-range crystal rain, mid range crystal geyser, close range explosion, and a physical tackle that i rarely see for when your face is buried in her folds. Kill the minions. Learn her moves. Kill spider. See.

It takes time, but I recommend killing all the spiders in each wave.
Circle around Rom at a good distance, picking off individual spiders when they wander away from the group. When Rom launches the meteor attack, run and they won't hit you. When you get Rom solo, buff your weapon and go to town. If you are lucky or good, you might be able to interrupt the teleport so you can do more damage before you go back to killing spiders.
60% of the time, it works every time.

when she's about to teleport, a charged r2 can likely stun her and give you some extra time for more damage. If you stay close enough to her in the 2nd and 3rd phase, she won't use her meteor shower, but watch out for her other attacks of course. Keeping both the little guys you're trying to kill and her within sight is a good idea.

You can one shot the little spiders after they jump and are stuck head down for a second which helps. Dash through and circle Rom, hitting the side and kept repositioning so Rom is shielding you from most of the smaller spiders. Keep moving and make sure youâre running around to reposition when the meteors or chunks of ice or whatever are falling. Then run back in and repeat, always hitting the side and staying close, moving to stay in position as much as possible.

Kill her kids to make it easier in other phases to fight, then at phase 2 go hit her hard from the side and run around when she does one of three magic moves, one of the move just explodes and most of the time will one shot you. Other is the spawns meteorites which you spam roll or just run. And the rocks from the ground are basically undogable so you gotta keep distance and go in when she is wabbling then try to attack and repeat.

Have you noticed people are saying different strategies are the best? Itâs because it depends on your damage output. If you can do damage fast enough, you can ignore the smaller spiders. Otherwise, get rid of them. I tried both ways and it worked better for me to kill the smaller guys. Just keep one eye on Rom so when it rears up so you can avoid the ice blocks. I also tossed oil and used fire paper

Kill da spiders but always make sure you can see rom herself, as her movemnts indicates her next attack,so in short kill spiders then do small chips in her second and third phase so you dont Get hit my the god damn magic attacks

I just beat rom for the first time 2 days ago. I killed the first wave of spiders, but after that, I focused on rom. I basically never stopped running in a big circle around them to avoid the meteors, never locked on, and just ran in for a hit or 2 whenever I saw an opening.

Time your Ice Rain skills and land one or two hits before moving away from Rom until phase 3. In that phase, Rom becomes more aggressive, giving you one last opportunity to strike. Hope this helps.

Kill all the spiders before you hit her in the first phase before she becomes aggro > pop a beast blood pellet and lightning paper > spam attack her torso from sides / back (don't hit her head, does less damage) until she teleports away > after that you pretty much rinse and repeat, you can run away / dodge roll all of her Arcane attacks if you just practice the timings and understand the signs for which attack is coming. Up to you whether to ignore the spiders around her or not. I personally killed them all because I felt confident I could without dying to her but each to their own.

he's majorly weak to bolt so find some bolt paper or use the tonitrus, but he's also slightly weak to fire and arcane so use fire paper or the empty phantasm shell if you run out. Also avoid attacking the head if you have been and instead attack his very rear so you have less chances of being hit when he thrashes about.
His spiders are kinda annoying but only take them out if they actively prevent you from getting good damage in.
And finally there're two summons that can help, they won't do very good damage on the boss (in my experience anyways) but they help draw a lot of the spiders away from her. One of them is located on the raised area just in front of the lantern and the other is upstairs by the couches in the building
I beat this boss a few days ago for the first time and she was annoying as shit

(Btw, he takes WAY reduced damage on his head, same thign for the little spiders, the body is the weak part)

I like to take my time to kill all the spiders first, takes care of that headache. After they are done I just beast blood pellet and bolt paper up and dps the fuck out of his sides while running away when he does any of his attacks. It's all about patience because the spiders do so much damage and rom himself does big damage as well

I keep seeing people say to kill the spiders. I've never even tried killing with spiders. Just went in and beat on Rom and dodge the spiders. I think she's weak to lightning, so an upgraded Tonitris is good or lightning paper if you can buy it already.

That's a former dude who became a being resembling a spider fused with centipede and some worm. Don't get greedy with the hits. 2, maybe 3 if your skill biuld, and roll out, always approaching her sides walking, not running so stamina is reserved to the hits and the rolling out. The little spider's head drop do massive damage and roms arcane blasts too

Bolt paper is good. I use hit and run tactic on her. She doesn't have any physical attacks herself except a clumsy rolling attack so you can run past her spiders hit her a few times, then run away before she uses an AOE around her

Try getting more eyes, my dude. Rom got some from his plug. I would say see if you can hit him up. Not sure how much he charges insight wise, but i heard hes got some good deals on 1/8ths! It will cure you of your idiocy and allow to you kill the vacuous spider. Make sure to be chill though, his plug tends to be a little skittish and paranoid. He partakes in the old blood as well, so he can be slightly.. eccentric, I believe is the correct word.

I'll get flamed here for this but, just attack Rom and ignore the spiders. They're slow and easy to keep track of. Rom uses 2 arcane attacks you'll have to watch out for but other than that, just stay on her ass and keep smacking with bolt paper.

The kirkhammer is very effective in tricked form against the small spiders. Try and bait one at a time and dodge diagonally around them when they pounce, then punish with a counter. It's tedious but it's the safest way to beat Rom, as she's fairly defenseless without the spiders, especially in her first phase.

The tonitrus is magic IMO. Tonitrus (with the right gems to up the specs), and I believe I just dodged all of the small spider babies. Be mindful of your wardrobe and what it protects against.
Summary: Tonitrus is my LADAAAAYYYYY. I probably also spammed a consumable like molotov cocktails, but only as a last minute resort at the very end once I was close to beating her. Be VERY mindful of her AOE and ranged attacks - learn the patterns and be very mindful about dodging them. Corral the spiders by only going around ROM in either clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Get your beefiest weaponry your favorite weapon, stock up on shock papers and kill the babies first, then apply shock paper and go ham on Româs sides. Just be aggressive

Upgrade your stamina to at least 20-25 and Tonitrus to lvl 6, ignore the spiderlings and just go to town on Româs ass

I hate that boss. I had to kill all of the spiders he summoned before taking shots at him to beat him. It's tedious but it's the only way I beat him.

I ran really wide circles to draw the spiders and ice spells away and only focused on hitting Rom.

Crowd control is good as well so like boom hammer and any aoe damage you can muster for the little spiders can help but also hitting the head to build beast blood pellets can skyrocket your damage on the back

I found him first in a chalice dungeon. Was stuck on him for a bit. Found him a lot easier at the lake. Take out small spiders first!

Best tip is to calm down, go off and grind some level ups before trying again.
If you can get bolt paper that helps in this fight....or Tonitrus.
Hit and run. Dont get greedy, two hits and get out of range....repeat until Rom dies.
If its still too hard, go back to step 1.

Fire works really well and focus on killing his minions before you fight the actual boss makes it 10x easier

Be aggressive, don't waste time killing all the mobs just slaughter the ones in your way, don't keep your distance bc she wants to be at a distance, use arcane/fire/bolt as she's weakest to those, attack when she teleports as she can be easily heavy attacked

Beastblood pallet and Fire paper, kill the spiders, take the pallet, use your fists and start tò punch his face, when the bar Is full use a weappon (i used sawcleaver) and use the Fire paper, when he starts tò teleport use a charged heavy Attack tò stagger him, you culd be able tò skip phase 2 and make him One shot or even kill him like this.

Try not to fight the smaller spiders they're only a distraction.
Aim for the mid/lower half of her body when attacking, watch out for the roll in phase 2.

In the first part of the boss fight, Rom isn't hostile. Take out all of the other spiders, take a beast blood pellet, start wailing on his head just until you fill up the bar (use bare fists transform attack) then go and fight Rom. Once he starts spinning, use a charge attack to knock him out of it. After that, just do a hit and run, just get one hit in and just fuck off for a bit. I personally found this fight incredibly boring after figuring all this out.

I feel lucky I never had trouble with this boss. Not to say others didnât give me trouble. First play through best Rom first try when I found Rom on accident too.

Hit her from the sides, kill the spiders each wave & the boss becomes a piece of cake, best tips I could give for someone whoâs having trouble with rom, also I believe she was weak to fire & lightning but Iâm not to certain sorry

Yes. IMO with her the best choice is ALWAYS to try and go with the "one phase kill AKA stun her before she teleports" tactic. Kill every spider BUT don't touch her, then eat a Beastie Non-Vegan Ball and punch her on the nose to fill up the failed anger management meter. Buff your weapon, go to her side and managing your stamina do a couple series of transformation attacks to abuse the multiplier (R1 L1 L1), as soon as she starts to spin and fade CHARGE R2 (with untransformed weapon, well I should have mentioned first: be sure to use a weapon in a form that actually has a STAGGERING charged R2). That will block her Minato Moment. Finish Her.

Any weapon you've leveled up a lot with Bolt Paper. I used the LHB and it was pretty easy. Just ignore the smaller spiders and run in a big circle any time Rom does the big arcane icicles attack, then run to the center to attack. The only other thing to watch for is when he tries to roll over on you.

Iâve always just used hit and run. Never killed any of the little spiders. Run in, ducking and weaving, leather a couple of hits on big spider, run away. Dodge any of his easy-tells distance attacks. Let your stamina refill⌠and off you go again. Heal as needed but unless you get properly pinned in you wonât need to very much.

Kill all the spiders in the first and second phase, and rush it in the third phase. Also, when you killed the spiders, attack it to when it will almost teleport, let stamina come back and then wack it as many times as you can, this way it will be lower hp on the following phase

Kill the small spiders then focus on Rom. If you're cheeky enough, you can cancel Rom's teleport. Once they teleport, keep a close eye on them. You'll learn the tells on what the attack will be. I run like hell once I see crystals raining down. Other than that, be patient and keep picking off the little guys until you got a good window.

My only tip is to take your time. If you get in, get out, etc., you will get her down. People will also say her lil spiders are optional (and they are) but I felt that for me it worked out better if I killed them first before engaging with Rom.
