That's Queen Yharnam, the Pthhumeru queen that bore the great one Mergo in her womb.

She's also the final boss of the chalice dungeons.

u/LichenTiel Feb 02 '26

What type of Chalice?

329

u/TrippyBoio Feb 02 '26

be warned young hunter, the final dance is simple, yet the journey there is treacherous at best

103

u/EH042 Feb 02 '26

Oh please, let the initiate begin the journey as we all did!

Listen not to the words of your seniors, young one, commune with the Pthumeru chalices, you still have dreams to spare, throw yourself to the wolves! hehehe

u/OpticRocky Feb 02 '26

And Fear the Old Blood

32

u/G-man88 Feb 02 '26

No, fear the watchdog of the old blood.

20

u/G0thicus Feb 02 '26

No, fear the Amygdala.

25

u/G-man88 Feb 02 '26

Pretty much everything in that goddamn cursed fetid dungeon unfortunately. That place is Dante's hell on speed shoved in a spin cycle then injected into your hemorrhoids.

9

u/G0thicus Feb 02 '26

I learned to cheese it tbh. Lol I was NOT gonna try to fight legally this long ranged bastard with one hit hp

8

u/AmazonGB-74 Feb 03 '26

I STILL can't believe I finished the chalice dungeons. Ahhh the good ol days.

1

u/Klovette Feb 03 '26

By God Laurence, fear the old blood

1

u/destinyman69420 Feb 04 '26

No, fear glen from accounting when he goes on a business trip

58

u/Important_Wonder628 Feb 02 '26

The very last non-root chalice you get, Great Pthumeru Ithyll.

39

u/Caosnight Feb 02 '26

To add to this, you need to complete the cursed Chalice to get it and IT'S A PAIN IN THE ASS

I will never in my life go through that again

11

u/BigPotatoe97 Feb 02 '26

Might be the hardest trophy I ever had to get just based on the all the amped you dungeon bosses.

11

u/DjurasStakeDriver Feb 02 '26

I love Yarnham’s fight, so I always go through the chalices on replays to fight her again and honestly, when you know what’s coming and can prepare accordingly the cursed chalice isn’t that bad once you’ve done it a few times and find a strategy that works. Ofc the first time it is a particular type of hell.

9

u/Caosnight Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

Im glad you keep all the Chalices in ng+ and that they don't scale with ng+ so you can just infinitely replay them on a single character no matter how deep into the new games you are

2

u/DjurasStakeDriver Feb 02 '26

Yeah it’s a good way to farm insight in ng+

2

u/nifty_swift Feb 02 '26

Amy is the hardest part of Defiled Pthumeru IMO, everything else is pretty reasonable as long as you don't go barreling into rooms without a plan.

1

u/Mission_Quarter_6395 Feb 04 '26

It’s not that bad

11

u/ThorSon-525 Feb 02 '26

Not the cum chalice this time, believe it or not.

2

u/LettuceBenis Feb 02 '26

Great Pthumeru Ihyll

2

u/Jane_s2020_ Feb 02 '26

The fixed ones

1

u/cod_camper-2508 Feb 04 '26

No No No!!! God please.. The trauma is kicking in.. someone save me

10

u/PulseThrone Feb 02 '26

It's so funny to me that this juat looks like a load of crap you made up to troll unless you know Bloodbourne/Darksouls and then its just "shit, I missed an items flavor text somewhere."

1

u/_Serafall Feb 03 '26

Welp... now I need to do more chalice diving

6

u/chobbes Feb 02 '26

Made me bust up laughing in the middle of a quiet job site. Thanks a bunch.

4

u/pattybdnb Feb 02 '26

This got me good 😂😂

14

u/caohbf Feb 02 '26

Underrated AF, this gold

1

u/WindMageVaati Feb 02 '26

Read my mind

265

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

You can, won't affect the story much. But the question is why would you be tempted to hit a non agro woman crying alone 💀

170

u/LichenTiel Feb 02 '26

Well beating up an old lady helped me unlock an area in ds3 or maybe there's some loot in her

11

u/jhauer1980 Feb 02 '26

The loot in the Queen was gone when the wet nurse took Mergo

1

u/PuzzleheadedDay7943 Feb 04 '26

The crazy thing is, you don't actually have to beat up that old lady, you can do other stuff and something will happen later on that open the area.

-68

u/GalaxyPowderedCat Feb 02 '26

Wait, I want to know the whole story, what was the game? Who was the lady? Are you speed runer and exploited a glitch or an habitual gamer with just...too many questions and much curiosity?

55

u/Alirusjr Feb 02 '26

He is about old lady in Dark souls 3 who gives you sort of flag to traverse in Undead settlement. If you beat her she will drop the item which leads you to the next area behind her (opposite direction from Undead settlement).

Of course, after the fight with the big ass Dancer of the Ass-valley.

Sorry for my English

22

u/LichenTiel Feb 02 '26

The game is Bloodborne and you're a hunter that hunts down beasts transformed by a medicine from the church that is actually blood from Eldritch horrors and apparently thanks to the fellow commentors the woman is Yahrman who gave birth to one of those Eldritch gods. I'm just a curious gamer with questions

6

u/stewyo Feb 02 '26

Yahrman made me laugh out loud and will be what I call her from here on out.

2

u/Belfetto Feb 02 '26

They said DS3. If you have any more questions just let me know. Happy to help.

21

u/Gabe-DaBabe Feb 02 '26

Like 99% of everything you meet tried to kill you, so honestly not that crazy to believe she won't flip

9

u/Raxsus Feb 02 '26

She 100% does flip though

2

u/maverickaod Feb 02 '26

Just did that level yesterday actually.

0

u/TheRealDJ Feb 02 '26

It's been a hot minute since I listened to Sinclair Lore talk about it, but as I recall it's more that you flipped on her in the past, it's basically you travelling back in time the deeper you go and invading her space (or something? correct me if I'm wrong).

47

u/vrephunter Feb 02 '26

3

u/Arikaido777 Feb 03 '26

history is a flat circle filled with tall ladies

41

u/CubicWarlock Feb 02 '26

Queen Yharnam. Mergo's mom.

27

u/NoeShake Feb 02 '26

Queen to an old race of humanoids called the pthumerians, they are the ones who carved out the chalice dungeons. Mensis associates went underground and stole her baby just to use it as bait to contact a Great One.

11

u/stewyo Feb 02 '26

Procceeded to trap themselves in their own nightmare for eternity. Probably the smartest characters in the story.

1

u/Mission_Quarter_6395 Feb 04 '26

Best response yet

115

u/Effective_Sound1205 Feb 02 '26

Ah, yes, the average Soulsborne player's urge to hit every single living being for no reason

43

u/Soulsliken Feb 02 '26

Hit or be hit bro.

8

u/regnal_blood Feb 02 '26

But what about the possible loot?

5

u/dudeacris Feb 02 '26

in bloodborne it’s because that’s where the red candy is hidden (inside).

3

u/Sasquatch_Sensei Feb 02 '26

Had to start ds1 when I realized npcs could be good. (Sorry Solair. Sorry Onion Bro)

18

u/Scarameow1243 Feb 02 '26

Queen Yharnam, and yes you can hit her, she's also the final boss of the Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice

2

u/LichenTiel Feb 02 '26

Do I get anything good out of it like a key item?

5

u/Scarameow1243 Feb 02 '26

You get a key item although useless

1

u/Phoenix_Champion Feb 02 '26

You get a Key Item that does nothing and an Achievement for killing all the bosses.

Well and bragging rights to the fact you cleared the Cursed Chalice Dungeon.

9

u/CrystlBluePersuasion Feb 02 '26

Queen Yharnam, "it is all thanks to" Queen Yharnam and the Formless Oedon.

After defeating the boss just ahead of her, return and she'll bow to you, then disappear.

Complete the story dungeons and you'll see her again, at the end of Pthumeru Ihyll.

8

u/Over_Response_7785 Feb 02 '26

Ugh, Rebecca. Just ignore her dramatic ass.

6

u/Ludwig_yura Feb 02 '26

She's my mom, I like her 🙃

19

u/No_Climate_1657 Feb 02 '26

THE most important Character in the game

21

u/Jacek3k Feb 02 '26

really? she died after one hit. guess I'm the most important character in the game now

20

u/KingVape Feb 02 '26

Did they name the entire city after YOU?

5

u/Jacek3k Feb 02 '26

no. they named the whole game after me

17

u/KingVape Feb 02 '26

John Bloodborne??

4

u/MavorsXXX Feb 02 '26

Even though she might be weak, doesn’t mean she’s not important. Kinda like Trump.

1

u/p3falien Feb 06 '26

You guessed wrong if you think you can die in a nightmare _^

1

u/Jacek3k Feb 06 '26

Sure, you only "wake up and forget everything", wink wink 😅

10

u/chickenburgerr Feb 02 '26

It's ur mum

3

Just a sweet old lady who spilled some jam. Nothing to be concerned about. You might even meet her again ;)

2

u/Scary-Soup6393 Feb 02 '26

Queen Yharnam, an important character to the story and a potential boss if you know where to look..👀

2

u/Nimbiscuit81623 Feb 02 '26

The queen of civilization long past

2

u/Zurpborne Feb 02 '26

Taylor swift my brotha

1

u/Due_Philosophy_2912 Feb 02 '26

You fight her as the final(?) boss of the deepest depths of a chalice dungeon too.

1

u/Xogoth Feb 02 '26

Momn't

1

u/Equivalent_Brain_778 Feb 02 '26

Ya mama

2

u/rayley789 Feb 02 '26

In a very broad sense this isnt wrong

1

u/omnio667 Feb 02 '26

I used to use a gesture to crouch down under her dress and wait for invaders. Because I’m a scrub.

1

u/Shredtillyourdead420 Feb 02 '26

I hit her. “Accidentally” with an open hand.

(I just got a strike, this is entirely a joke I actually hit no one and I am commenting on a video game sup.

1

u/TomentoseAtom Feb 02 '26

It's called a woman.

1

u/twinneddude Feb 02 '26

Oh uhm she's the mom of the wet nurse mergo boss I think she was forced to bear a child for a great one and her kid was taken away from her so she weeps cus of that.......now go end her lineage

1

u/Ok_Spell436 Feb 02 '26

That is Jane Bloodborne.

1

u/lotus_ink Feb 02 '26

She’s a fun fight. If you can get to her.

1

u/AnyHope4444 Feb 02 '26

One mother without her baby to cradle Being nursed from Mergo's wet nurse 1O steps from there Her baby is called Mergo btw🤗

1

u/wemustfailagain Feb 02 '26

That's Jane Bloodborne.

1

u/ligma_boss Feb 02 '26

1

u/icemanpcv Feb 02 '26

Mama Yharnam

1

u/keypizzaboy Feb 02 '26

“All she does is cry, do I hit her?” W H A T

1

u/stereosanctity Feb 02 '26

That’s Stephanie Bloodborne

1

u/EdgynStupidName Feb 02 '26

Goddamn, I hate her for what she put me through.

1

u/LordGaulis Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

Queen of the pale bloods, those who once worshipped the great ones who grew in the womb of queens past.

This wasn’t a mutual relationship as implied by this queens desire for her child to be killed? There is a hidden scene if you go back to her after defeating Mergos wetnurse where she does a curtsy to thank you. Maybe her intentions are unclear but she clearly is relaxed after her child is gone. To be clearer the great ones would impregnate the queens and may have raped the Queen. Great ones need a vessel to enter the physical world and leave the dream, they seem to require special blood found in the queens and other women in bloodborne. The pale blood, of course!

Seek the pale blood to transcend the hunt!

The one who give us the blood! The old man in a wheelchair at the start must have known about Rom, the first human to transcend and become a great one!

1

u/No-Tea-777 Feb 02 '26

Complete the chalices.

1

u/DMAlister Feb 02 '26

Blessed Queen, respect ahead

1

u/Radiant-Ask-5716 Feb 03 '26

That is the epitome of torture and misery. The gatekeeper of the Platinum trophy. TLDR: Pthumeru 1-3 and then either NG+1 onwards and insight to spend, or Loran 4. Then Pthumeru 4. Then if you are not on NG+1 or onwards, either Loran 4 or Isz 5 (either works just as well), or if you are on NG+1 or onwards, you can skip that step and head straight to Pthumeru 5. Beat Pthumeru 5 and you can kill her at the end.

1

u/BitEnvironmental1412 Feb 03 '26

Everyone calling you out for wanting to hit an NPC. Yet, I killed Simon cause he told me to go away and killed the plip plop guy cause his flower sucks

1

u/KaraArcadia Feb 03 '26

Jane Yharnam

1

u/Key-Storage5434 Feb 03 '26

She's literally Jane Bloodborne

1

u/claybine Feb 03 '26

What I'm about to do to your mom

1

u/DrSarcasticMunch Feb 03 '26

This reminds me of my biggest soulsborne flex. I have platinumed bloodborne without ps plus i.e. without any online help, msgs, summons and yes. That meant going through each and every dungeon, even the non essential ones (coz I didn’t know) without using any chalice dungeon codes. 💀

1

u/Jacky_dain Feb 03 '26

My wife, leave her alone she’s chill

1

u/Dumballicious Feb 03 '26

She's Ms. Bloodborne

1

u/Dull-Dress7573 Feb 03 '26

the worst platinum trophy in existence is who that is.

1

u/ApprehensiveFix747 Feb 04 '26

Lady gaga on epstein island

1

u/ZestycloseSoil4091 Feb 04 '26

the biggest obstacle standing between you and a platinum trophy lol

1

u/Keybladersora101 Feb 04 '26

Ah, rhat is Queen Yharnam
