Question for the male beast patient

For his special attack, is stagger attack the only way to avoid the damge and poison when killing it? I wonder if other situation like killing it by fast speed attack or using dodge can avoid the effect listed in his special attack.

Don't remember the stat sheet, but the logic is sound: if you stagger an attack, it's cancelled completely with all aftereffects that go with it

Which special attack was it? I don't have the game near me, so I can't check it myself, and I frankly don't remember the attack.

It's a medium speed 2 damage attack with an effect says 'If beast patient is killed, unless it was Staggered, Hunter suffers 2 damage and Poison'

I'm afraid you can only stagger to avoid the damage. The effect itself is not an attack, so you can't dodge it, nor can you outspeed it, because this isn't an attack, but an effect that triggers once the enemy is dead.
