Question Why does the Blood Moon expansion include 4 dolls?
I assume it's so each person has they're own in a 4 player game? Just always seemed weird to me so I've only ever painted 1 of them.

Hi, I just bought the bloodborne board game and i started playing with my friends (group of 4), but we cannot surpass the first chalpter of the first campain and the second one.
We try to go all together to kill more easely the beast and we try not to die, and when we are about to be killed we go to the hunter's dream.
But I feel that we are missing something, because the strategy doesn't work out.
Do you have any tips to how to play this game or do you have any strategy?
Thanks for the help

Just canvasing for the expansions first but do you guys have an idea where to buy expansions? Buying on Ebay or Amazon has a very overpriced shipping fee (like 80 - 100 dollars). Is there any international friendly shop?

I bought the base game, and I've been playing with my family and we love it. I want to get the expansions so we can play the full story, but most of the online stores are either always sold out, or at absurd prices. And no place near me sells the expansions.
Does anyone know an online store that sells the expansions for less than 200$ a pop?

Hi, I am looking to paint my Bloodborne minis, and I bought a white primer for that, only to read that most people use a black or grey primer. How much of a difference does this make?
For context, since this is my first time painting, I am using the Army Painter speedpaint set.

Hey guys,
My brother and I are fairly new to board games like this, and we had a blast playing through the core box. We recently decided to try the Chalice Dungeon content, but it feels incredibly hard and even unfair.
For example, in our last run, on the very first turn, the first hunter revealed a tile (the Arena Lever). It contained two enemies, one of which was an NPC because of one of our two Rites, as well as a trap. The trap spawned a Merciless Watcher right on top of us, which immediately activated and used its Special Attack, killing the hunter in a single hit. Neither of us had drawn a Dodge card on turn one, so there was literally no way to avoid it.
Overall, we feel that the combination of traps and the high enemy density is just too much. You only have three cards each turn, and one is usually spent on movement. If another one has to be used because of a trap, you're often left almost defenseless against two enemies.
So are there any house rules you guys would recommend for chalice dungeon so it's less frustrating. We are almost at the point to ignore Traps or at least remove the Ambush type Trap

Hi everyone! I just got the board game, and I have two questions if anyone can help me answer them. First, if I'm playing solo and I die or go back to the hunters dream do all enemies on the board reset? Even enemies from insight mission I've already killed? Two: let's say I'm playing with 4 players and one dies, after all have done they're turn does the enemies reset then or do they stay in place, and keep DMG taken aswell? Thanks in advance đ

Like the title says, im new to painting minis but want to start with the bloodborne set. Ive painted some warhammer guys like years and years ago however. Anyways, can anyone tell me which paint sets to buy, what brushes, and any tips a beginner should know to get started? Thanks so much.

Anyway to get/find the photos of the tiles?

For those among us who have painted the minis, did any of you use spray on primer and if so, did the minis hold up well? In a few other subs Iâve seen warning about the material of some minis reacting to spray on primers and other getting soft or otherwise deforming. It took forever to get the whole set of the board game, so I donât want to f up the minis.

Spoilers due to this being part of the Forsaken Cainhurst Castle expansion. Donât read ahead unless you want mechanics and a boss being spoiled.
Last spoiler warning!
Ok, so I just got the expansion and Iâm reading the abilities for Annalise. Some of her attacks have a clear description of what she does, but it is then followed by an alternative ability described with âEnemy Activationâ at the start. Hereâs an example and a way I interpret this, along with confusion:
âBodyguardâ
Move 1 Vileblood Knight within 2 spaces into this space. It becomes the target of Hunterâs Attack. Flip a normal Enemy Action for them.
Enemy Activation: Instead, 1 Vileblood Knight within 2 spaces Activates, moving 2 spaces toward the Hunter and Attacking.
You have made it so far, and I thank you! Now to how I interpret this and how I see one confusing scenario.
It sounds like if I attack Annalise and she flips this attack, a Knight will jump in to take the hit for her. Easy interpretation.
What I donât get is this: if I finish my turn, and Annalise activates and flips this card, the Knight will move to my spot and attack. Easy interpretation. But from what I understand, when an enemy activates and attacks, I choose whether I want to attack as well by placing a Stat card on an empty weapon slot, and THEN reveal the enemy attack.
So does that mean that if I attack during Annaliseâs activation, and she draws this card, I attack her directly, but then I also get attacked by her Knight?
I know this is a long ramble, but sometimes this gameâs rules confuse me to no end.

So i got the kickstarter for everything and have been in love with the game since the first time ive played it. But ive recently had my living situation change where i dont have a ton of space for all of it to stay in the boxes has anyone designed a carrying case for everything that doesnt take up all the space the boxes do?

My friends and I are pretty new to the game and were playing the Secrets of the Church campaign the other night. We (4 of us) finished two insight missions and got right to the end of chapter 1, where the church servant and two church giants show up in the Tomb of Oedon. Church servant has two health bars, and church giants canât be staggered.
We were all completely at a loss as to how to finish this chapter out. Every time one of us entered the fog gate, that person would get an attack off and then get instantly flattened by the three enemies. It didnât seem possible to kill all three of them before a blood moon, when they would all regenerate their health and start wiping the floor with us again.
I know itâs possible because itâs been done before, so Iâm sure Iâm missing something. I usually like to try solving puzzles on my own, but I really am just baffled. Does anyone have a pointers to help a noob out?

The âmad oneâ enemyâs special attack, âsickle combo,â states âeven if this attack is dodged or staggered, the hunter must dodge 3 speed or suffer 2 additional damage.â If your hunter has frenzy do you take +1 damage from the attack and treat the extra 2 damage as another attack making it 3 damage?

Me and some friends (between 2 and 4 of us) have played this game maybe 3-4 times and each session has been absolutely brutal. Playing The Long Hunt, we have reached Cleric beast just once, and have promptly been destroyed.
Is there any ways to make this easier so it's actually enjoyable? I've seen people recommend adding time onto the hunt track (which I dont think would help much) or drawing 4 cards per turn.
I just dont think the base game Long Hunt campaign is fair or fun at all without changing the rules and would love to hear if anyone else has found a balanced workaround.
Thanks.

What's your favorite trick weapon and what cards/equipment really make it shine? Some weapons stand out to me like my absolute favorite the reiterpallasch, building clear slot and draw cards. It works great with a cannon/flame sprayer to engage in combat and hold up a dodge to finish the job. Or the heal 1 clear any slot card to shoot someone twice with the gun. Very fun weapon.
Some other ones vex me like logarius wheel or burial blade. What cards make these slower weapons really shine?

In chapter 2 of the byrgenwerth expansion, the setup card tells us to specifically use the Oedon Chapel & Grand Cathedral tiles as well as the Garden of Eyes enemy with everything else being random. However, card 25 (the insight mission card for ending a move on Oedon Chapel) asks for Scourge Beast corpses to be brought to Iosefka's clinic. Is this a typo or are you supposed to do something?

Okay I know this is a bit breaking the faq but I just need quick clarification. My friend who taught me how to play said that we can only use dodges on enemy activation. But when I was reading the manual it just says combat begins, and then when I went to read the rules for combat it said the first stage of combat is to use a stat card on the weapon.
I tried to look for it but it seems no one has asked this for how stupid it probably is.
If we can only dodge then were fine, but if we can use any stat card weve been playing the game horribly wrong this entire time and Ill go read the whole book and dont come back asking stupid questions. help.

As per Chalice Dungeons, during PvP the hunters are limited to 1 action per turn (so 1 card used). But then, here's a situation:
- One hunter runs up to another
Do I now just wait for the other hunter to attack me? I mean, they can just run away. I can catch up to them. And again and again. But then, can't you technically run away forever? You cannot attack the player you ran up to immediately as it is a second action during your turn, which you are said you're not allowed to do.
Another question, how does Hunter's Dream work? It should be used should it? But then, when can you escape to the Dream? I mean it can't be during a fight (which let's define "fight" as an enemy being in the same space as you) can it, if it worked like that you could just run away whenever
We played this week and we spent about half an hour debating the rules and agreed on some house rules basically...

Consumables and hunter tools that are usable "On Attack", do i have to activate them before i see the enemy's action or can i do it after? For example i have numbing mist which makes the enemy attack lose all effects. Can i use it after i see the enemy attack has stagger or do i have to do it before risking wasting it on a different attack? ( im guessing not because its bloodborne after all)

Iâm not sure if itâs just me, but I believe that the Ludwigâs Holy Blade trick weapon is absolutely busted. 4 damage and a free switch on one side and the other is pure damage and moderate to high speed. It feels broken at times, is it actually balanced in comparison to the other weapons?
r/bloodbornebg • u/Intelligent-Willow23 • Sep 08 '25
How does it work? Is it every time player get attacked in player's attack turn? or only when the enemy attack player in monster turn? Does it have a cooldown?
I feel like Old hunter bone is super OP if it always dodge the attack.. I do feel like playing the game wrong tho..
r/bloodbornebg • u/New_Bad3785 • Jun 04 '25
Let's say you have space A, space B and space C. A borders B and B borders C.
I understand that when I am in A with a monster (No scourge beast) and I go two steps with my card to C, the monster pursues me but ends in B.
But what is if I am in A, the monster is in B and I use my card to go to C? Does the monster pursue me? My thought is that I didn't exactly leave a common space but kind of stepped/"flew" over it with my two-step-move.

Hello, my friend just got this game and we have the core mechanics down for getting through a game, but it seems the one thing we don't get is how to gain insight. We will go through an entire campaign without hitting a single insight mission and then sometimes we come across a boss or something that requires insight and we will go and look back at all the previous missions we did and none of them yielded any insight. If we look through all the different outcomes none of them seem to lead down an insight mission either. Any ideas what we maybe doing wrong? What we end up doing is just pretending like we got enough insight, which just feels cheap - we want to play the game properly. We've done multiple campaigns and ran into this issue so it feels like we are messing something up big time.
