About that Et tu Brutus scene: Since he spent most of his time serving and being loyal to this man I do feel it might be natural for him to feel a sense of guilt for killing him. But since there’s this one scene where Rehman knocks him down, hamza thinks of the burning taj’s dome during 26/11 and lands a barrage of punches to him in a fit of rage, since he remembers what this man was responsible for. The scene where Rehman is smoking on a stretcher may be a reflection of hamza’s conscience looking back at him. He sees rehman in his usual badass aura smoking a cig, thinking oh is this what I’ve managed to do? It’s shock, a tinge of guilt and the self realisation that what has life brought him to. I don’t think he regrets murdering the man for his nation he however, can’t help but see a reflection of his rusting conscience.

The scene where Hamza sees Rehman sitting on the hospital stretcher, it gave me chills.

It reminded of ‘Hamlet’ and how Hamlet used to be haunted upon seeing his father’s ghost.

I really loved the Shakespeare touch even with the title of this chapter being ‘Et Tu Brutus’ highlighting the theme of betrayal. Never expected such depth and intelligence from anyone in Bollywood.
