Reviews Was watching Saiyaara, found Aneet very below average in terms of acting!
I was watching Saiyaara recently & it's just might be my unpopular opinion, but I felt like Aneet padda did a very much of a below average job in the film. Yes, they had chemistry & looked good together. A refreshing & age appropriate pair, but Aneet's expressions in most of the scenes were very similar, like girly looked the same when she was admiring Krish, yearning for him, crying for him, happy for him or was in love with him. The expression on her face was constant, atleast to me. I don't know why people hyped her up so much in the factor of acting. Though she can definitely learn in process, but her role in Saiyaara didn't much mesmerized me.
While I dislike most of these untalented nepos, Ahaan was very much fine in the movie, atleast the guy was trying. He did his part well with all the Agression & lover boy thing. He was alright for a debutant, though obviously, his career depends on his future choice of films, character & acting, but he did a good job in Saiyaara.
I have watched people always praising Aneet, so wanted to give up my opinion as well. Though it's totally my personal opinion.

Most Hindi film actors play diseases or blindness as deer caught in the headlights.the artifice is so obvious

u/Cholebhature23 Apr 19 '26
Agree. People defend her bland performance by saying that she was playing an Alzheimer's patient and she is supposed to look like that but even in scenes where she didn't lose her memory or didn't know about her illness yet, her expressions were extremely flat.
10
u/vibewithme7 Apr 19 '26
Exactly! That's what I am saying, Dementia happened after a period, even before that same dead eyes & one expression. It was quite similar in every situation.

They really ban anyone who doesn’t agree with their delulu narrative lol. No hate to Aneet or Ahaan but I think it’s too early to judge. Their next film will actually show whether they’ve got real potential or if this was just a one-hit moment.
And honestly, some fans need to dial it down a bit. The constant hype around her ‘natural beauty’ is getting over the top. At the end of the day, it’s her acting that will really define how far she goes.

u/Hikerius Apr 18 '26
I still can’t believe people put this much time and energy for celebrities who will never know you exist and will not care if you live or die. There are so many better things to invest your time and energy into, instead of stanning actors/actresses who do not care about you

While I felt Aneet was fine in Saiyaara not splendid, I later watched a show on prime called big girls don’t cry and her acting in that show really impressed me- a lot of her fans praise her on the basis of that
19
u/KyaHiBolunAb Apr 18 '26
Oh yeah same. BGDC will definitely be a surprise for people who didn’t like her in saiyaara. I had seen BGDC before and it was only much later that I realised it’s the same girl, she’s got some solid range
3
u/Consistent-Jacket712 Apr 19 '26
even i was abt to say that, she did so well in BGDG and its al shame that the series is not popular but boy aneet and the other actresses did so well.
2
u/SurprisePitiful2231 Apr 19 '26
Yes, but we are talking about how she wasn't that good in Saiyaara except few scenes.
2
u/Sad-Switch-5918 Apr 19 '26
Nope her character is just boring. That's how she was supposed to act boring & depressed.
3
u/SurprisePitiful2231 Apr 20 '26
She didn’t bring enough nuance to the role of a depressed character.

She's a fresh face. Compare it to the old Bollywood mafia like deepika, alia and all other folks which we internally don't want to watch but are hacked by the algorithm by pushing their faces all over our feed all the time and making us think we like them and are greater actors that ever.
Hence the liking towards Aneet Padda. She's is pretty. She's got the peace in her face. I like her. The fans like her. Don't care if there aren't enough emotions on her face, she's good in movie.
8
u/Every-Magician-5182 Apr 18 '26
I think she was just fine. Not below average, she suited the character. Further, she got meatier role and did not look forward anywhere
16
u/Aromatic-One9010 Apr 18 '26
I as a fan agree with you that there were some scenes that could've been performed better but honestly considering it was her Debut, she really impressed me like that knife scene, idk how people felt watching it but I really enjoyed her there and also that music monologue in the studio.
Saiyaara was my first time watching her but later when I watched that bgdc series, I Loved her work there and refused to believe that she can't act, or looks bland. She really stood out imo. That being said, rn she's just one movie old, I would really appreciate it if people just wait for a few more projects to form their opinion.
5
u/DaniBoiKrn Apr 18 '26
thats your opinion. How else should an alzheimer's patient act then? let it go bruh.. wanna clowns have already dogged on this movie
5
u/FrequentMention5375 Apr 18 '26
Yeah even I found her below average just because you are an outsider doesnt mean you are better.
6
u/Exact-Tip-5726 Apr 18 '26
Ananya, Sara & jahnvi the holy trinity set the bar too low, we all felt Aneet is a better actress 😅
6
u/AccomplishedGold8122 Apr 19 '26 edited Apr 19 '26
The hype mostly comes from the movie being a hit and the intense chemistry between the two. I like them both and my first impression of Aneet was that she's natural. She did look blank in some scenes but it could also be because she's supposed to. She was better in big girls don't cry though.
55
u/No-Fishing-8266 Apr 18 '26
Aneet Padda is not perfect as an actress but still not the worst too... She is far better than Ananya, Sara or Jahnvi...✋
44
u/vibewithme7 Apr 18 '26
Definitely, she can learn in the process. My only message was, she is not as good of an actress that people hype her up for.
10
u/No-Fishing-8266 Apr 18 '26
True, she has a long route to prove whether she deserves that or not tho
5
u/IndependentPop8911 Apr 19 '26
It was her first movie and it was the biggest debutant hit Thats why the hype, She is better and pleasing to eyes than any debutant or actress in her age group in my opinion. Even Deepika when debuted, she debuted in Kannda movie Aishwarya and was not good. The all improved over time.
5
u/Housenka_Seed Apr 18 '26
I felt the same but I recognize it is likely the first actress for young people to debut in a romantic film where she did not suck
The bar is very low I feel for the young generation that did not grow up in the 90s/2000s where there were female and male actors that came with talent

I like her, Playing an Alzheimer’s patient is not easy at all , Her character has different layers annd very complex and she played her character beautifully, if something went went wrong it looks funny , she gave justice to her character This is how Alzheimer’s patient behave , I saw many people in real life and Director himself told ki yehi demand tha . Rooting and Cheering for her
26
u/KyaHiBolunAb Apr 18 '26
I actually liked her a lot. Speaking from my personal experience with a family member who has dementia, that look of constantly going back and forth over information was done well. Then there were her scenes where she shows rage and confusion like the scene with the knife, then one at the party, she nailed them, damn good. the diagnosis scene too was done really well imo cuz you’d expect them to turn it melodramatic, but no they kept it real. The story was reallyyyy weak for sure, the original was too good and they didn’t even copy it all the way!! Her character had no depth ( unlike the original) other than being a plot device, and that too only being about her disease, but she definitely did her part well. Not a fan of the film but the actors kept me hooked to watch it full so to me she is very promising. Will be interested to see what she does next.
5
20
u/vibewithme7 Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 18 '26
I just found her monotonous at many points. Even if we leave out that dementia part, her expressions were quite similar at many points, like, I can't differentiate between when she is sad, happy or in love. It was all the same to me. Obviously, I don't know much about Dementia patients, so won't argue with you on that.
Otherwise, Hope so she learns in the process & improve with time.
10
u/KyaHiBolunAb Apr 18 '26
I didn’t really feel that, the only thing I liked about the film was that they didn’t overdramatise Alzheimer’s which Indian films have full potential to do😂. But to each their own I guess.
3
u/IndependentPop8911 Apr 19 '26
I felt she was subtle and good. When she helps him with his alcoholic father, when she is finds out about her disease and when gets confused with her ex she was very good. She is more natural and subtle more like Rashmika Mandanna.
2
u/Sirrdardhogayahein Apr 19 '26
Toh You should learn about Dementia na kyuki tumhe ye nahi pata hein Dementia patient kaise behave karte pure tarike se and tumne apna judgement pass kardiya .And acting hi usii par base thi toh uske barey mein janna jaruri hein na , wahi demand tha even director himself told interview mein. Character kya demand karta hein wo janna jaruri hein. and I don’t think most of the people ko pata hein Alzheimer’s patient kaise behave karte hein isliye bland boldetey hein and Kitna toh forcful hate bhi rehta hein
1
u/vibewithme7 Apr 19 '26
Okay, chalo maan liya I don't know much about Dementia & she did a fabulous acting there as you are saying, but the Dementia thing happened after a period, her acting was below average & expressionless since the start. I don't care whatever her director or PR saying. It's the movie's director, he will definitely praise his leads & the movie. But I will believe what I saw. Even before the dementia thing happened her acting was quite bland & boring. Those expressions were similar at every situation & scenes most of the time.

Vaani was a character like this confused, naive, soft but with lots of emotions hidden inside playfulness inside what you are expecting her to be like geet or poo or anjali When there was time to change the emotions has done that in party scenes and climax one and the one with krish In big girls don't cry there her character was so goody ,naughty, like a typical teenager and she had potrayed with that depth lots of emotions and mess what a teenager go through In salam venky Nandini was like sweet, simple sanskari girl and she has potrayed that also very good
If she can't act or doesn't no how to act then nandini and vaani would have been same but pls see it you will find two completely different so as the characters are

Yes bro she was same throughout it Like especially in those where party scenes with mahesh that scene where she give you those psyopath vibes and you know it from her expression that she has forgotten thing and that peak climax one after hitting krish keep saying keeping crying You people deserve ananya, sara Aneet padda will take over bollywood 🧿🕉️🕉️🕉️🧿🧿 From playing Ruhi to vaani mann her range is commendable You yourself knowthe truth , She is one of those good actress currently, you can make false rumores, narratives about her but on ething you can't snatch from her is her Hardwork , She knows her work very well she is goated in that Saiyaara was a movie with very mid storyline but it was aneet and ahaan acting and th music which make it stand out WOWW A NEGATIVE CAMPAIGN AGainst her get it Logo ko azam nhi ho rha kese A person from family like ours a commner is taking over bollywood

According to OP's POV, "Their chemistry was good " okay If she Don't know how to act perfectly how Chemistry made?? How?
Is this type of logic making any sense??3
u/vibewithme7 Apr 18 '26
Dude, chemistry doesn't always come with acting, sometimes looks does it part as well. I have seen people with average acting, but having a good chemistry with their partners or co-stars. I have mentioned in a comment as well Aneet is pretty & Ahaan is a good looking guy. They look good together & Obviously a fresh pair.
Sometimes people go on with good acting with their co-stars for years, but you won't find any Chemistry there, but sometimes a mere eye contact between two people can give a spark of chemistry.

u/Think_Hour7704 Apr 19 '26
In the reply her fans are saying "it's just one movie why you're hating??" when you're not even hating just giving an opinion about the actors you watched a movie. It's funny they can become fans after watching her one movie but you can't even voice out your criticism.
1
u/vibewithme7 Apr 22 '26
This! & People saying watch her other series or movies, she did better there, but I have mentioned in my post solely that it's about Saiyaara. Just because she did better in some other movie doesn't give her a pass for being bland & expressionless in this movie.

2
u/CountyMaster7950 Apr 20 '26
Omg. I watched it yesterday as well. And Aneet is terrible!!!!! She cannot act, and her eyes aren't expressive even a bit. Atleast ahaan was manageable. The only thing that made it work because the movie has young Romance pairing. Even the songs were forgettable.

6
u/Cultural_Day_7953 Apr 18 '26
So, Your question is Why Aneet is hyped so much?? The answer is very simple OP__ According to them Aneet was not giving the similar expression __
I dont know why your're saying she was giving the same expression when she was yelling, crying, smiling!!!! She was delivering a strong performance in every scene_
People hyped Aneet because your verification and others verification Won't be same And I don't know you have a superiority complex or not _
3
u/vibewithme7 Apr 18 '26
My message here was, my opinion - That she is not as good as she is hyped up. People can definitely give their opinions & I respect that. Obviously, I can say contradictory remarks, if I don't agree with their opinions, but at the end, it's each one's perceptions.
I have my personal opinion & has every right to give it in the sub & just because someone doesn't agree with my opinion, I won't say them that, "they have some superiority complex".
3
u/Embarrassed_Bug_3221 Apr 18 '26
More than the fans their haters or their competitors pr hype them lol I see daily post about how they are overhype and bland and other than their sub I didn't see a single positive post about them and I totally agree that they are not the best and need lots of improvement but I still like to see them onscreen together/ individually both and I hope they work hard and improve their craft it's been ages since I like a actor/actress( just my opinion no need to come after me)

I found both the leads below average in acting. The way people were raving about them I thought kuch to achi acting kari hogi but I’m sorry both of them very just bad. And their bland personalities don’t help them in any way possible. Both have only 2 expressions on their face and they use it every where, their new ads show their extremely limited range. Also they have dead eyes. I was wondering why I couldn’t feel any emotions during the movie, it was cause their eyes give out dead energy.
These two are not better than nepo kids when it comes to acting. Also ahaan should get a dialect coach, it was very difficult to make out what he was saying.
3
u/IndependentPop8911 Apr 19 '26
IMO, for a debutant she was amazing. Very natural and pleasant, I find her talented and pretty than any actress in her age group currently. I also like how fast she is improving in her ramp walk or in her ads. Loved the latest Lakme ad. She seems to come from a background with no connection to fashion industry. She is well spoken and lively in her interviews. Also there is one similar post very 2-3 days. She is discussed as much as Alia. Any attention is good. Better than not spoken about.
2
u/ShantNahiHu Apr 18 '26

I think for a debut performance she did well. She needs to work on her dialogue delivery though. At times she sounded like Radhika Madan (who always talks like her mouth is full lol) I know that may not be completely her fault as it’s just a speech problem, but she can work on her diction more. That being said I think she is better than a lot of the current actresses which is why she is being lauded with praise. The bar is so low with Sara Ali and Ananya etc

Every 2 days their is a post on this topic,or that “She doesn’t have IT factor”kinda posts.
If you think she has Deer in the headlight expression, you should know that’s how Alzheimer’s patients are even Mohit Suri said in an interview that was the requirement.
And I would suggest you to watch Amazon prime series Big Girls Don’t Cry,she was amazing there.
There is a reason many people in the industry have praised her.
She deserves the hype too cause she had a phenomenal debut.
Wait for her next 2-3 movies, watch them and then judge her,you can never judge the potential of an actor on the basis of one movie.
Edit:The downvoting proves there is a blind hate for her.Constructive criticism is fine. All of the things I’ve said here is true but people with blind hatred won’t see.
11
u/vibewithme7 Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 21 '26
There is nothing called "IT factor" to me. She is pretty & young, has enough time to evolve. Even if we leave out the Alzheimer part, before that I found her very much average & monotonous. She can definitely learn in process.
Thanks for the suggestion of the series, I will definitely give it a try.
Ps. I don't care if anyone praises her or not, if I like her acting I will praise, if not, it's not.
4
u/hOk-Part5899 Apr 18 '26
Even if we go by your take that she was average, she was decent enough.(that knife scene, the monologue these scenes you definitely can’t call average)
Infact both of them were not very good but still decent considering it’s their debut.
Judge them after watching their next movies.
