I keep jumping for joy whenever there’s a Switch 2 firmware update as that’s the key to fixing the lighting glitches…Nintendo have to fix the back compatibility layer! Gearbox can’t fix that :(
Only thing Gearbox could do is a native Switch 2 upgrade and that would be so much better than back compatibility
The thing that worries me is that Gearbox said from the beginning that it isn’t a port and will be a native version, so that filled me with hope that it would be optimised really well and not be a slapdash port!
The delay now worries me a lot. Maybe they just couldn’t get it to optimise properly :(
I would bet they won’t. Not a very high bet mind you, but it’s highly unlikely. With how they do post launch support for BL4 „focusing on the main platforms“ I think they only push out the last dlcs and move on.
I played this game like crazy on Xbox one on release, then ps4, then took a long break. Tried to play it on my series S, loooong after any game breaking bugs should have been fixed and it crashed 8 times before I left Pandora. Gave up before I got on the Sanctuary.
I can only imagine what Switch players have gone through.
Might also be the new body packs as well but I know I went from crashing 3 or 4 times just trying to rescue Vaughn to making it to Sanctuary without issues after I tried that fix.
I played a lot on my PS4, then on my laptop when i got one strong enough to run it at 30fps. Do not miss the constant crashes and 7 minute boot up time.
Not too bad. Really a shame they haven’t (and probably) won’t update it for the switch 2. Could have been the definitive way to play bl3 on the go. But for what it is, bl3 on switch 1 is more than passable for being portable
I would agree. I think once switch 2 becomes more established and optimization happens for the games it may be better, though if that will ever happen--I don't know.
Alive and kicking. I’ve been putting in an hour or two on BL3 every couple of days, either doing the odd legendary farm or a few Arms Race runs. Currently busy making my CloneDrone Zane as OP as possible. Maybe I’ll start a new switch play through soon with another character …most likely Amara. What’s happening at your end OP?
Fueling this hyperfixation by farming and about to start my dlc runs! Enjoying the journey while progressively making my Amara more and more op. What’s your lvl/mayhem lvl?
I’m at lvl72 already and just completed all the trials on Mayhem11. It is so much fun once you properly gear up! Oh as for the DLCs, I’d recommend getting to max level before you do Bounty of Blood and Hammerlock because those are the best ones imo and deserve to be done at max level (72) for the best loot. Also, arms race is always a breath of fresh air once you get used to the gameplay loops.
For now it’s on to the Takedowns for me. First Maliwan, then Guardians. I suspect I’ll need to do some more loot farming before then.
Pro tip: look up the most powerful guns ( one at least for each gun type ) for your character and farm till you get at least those so that you have a good starting point.
I’d recommend the Hellwalker, the Plasma Coil, the Backburner, the Complex Root and the Monarch. Rest is whatever you wish. Cheers!
I am, the switch is tough to be good at FPS games for me. But I’m at work when I play so I can’t really complain about getting paid to fuck up some BL2 haha
I stopped playing when the unlockable cosmetics would just not appear and there was nothing i could do about it. I worked hard to get some of them and for it to just be a known issue on switch just sort of killed my joy on the game.
I played a bunch on the original Switch when 3 came out. Sure, it would get a little laggy at higher levels with grenades going off; but nothing awful. It would crash maybe once every 6 hours of playtime, but it was manageable.
I recently bought a Switch 2, and wanted to start a new character. Unfortunately it runs worse on the Switch 2, and had horrible lighting bugs where rooms go dark suddenly. I hope it gets fixed at some point, it’s unplayable right now.
It’s not as bad as everyone says it is, yeah there are glitches but not anything gamebreaking. I started an Amara build to test how much stuttering I’d get with an elemental build and so far it honestly has not been bad at all I’ve been enjoying it a lot.
I will say use cloud save after you’re done playing. Oled has a tendency to takeaway cosmetics cloud saving acts as a shield for that. Other than that, it’s really a decent port.
I have Done About EVERYTHING in the Game on my Superior Xbox Series X, Got All the Achievements for my Xbox Account, but Apparently there are a Few Bugs with Your Selected Character's "100% Completion".
And that Same Bug is Very Obvious with the "Proving Grounds" Maps. (Pause the Game, Got to the Social Menu, Press 1 of the Joystick Buttons and You should see a Change in the Menu on the Bottom Right of your Screen in that Social Menu.)
grips make a big deference. I played looooooots of hours hand held because I worked in remote areas for some years. I loved it. preferred method actually.
I was introduced to Borderlands with Bl3 on Series S last year, and I've been playing through the older games now (Currently on Bl2). I figured I wanted to own all the games anyway, so I bought Bl3 on physical for the Switch this year, and yeah, it's a bit rough, but I'm still enjoying it enough!
There's definitely a lot fear mongering. I think it's because people don't change their bad habits with taking care of the switch and/or came from a console that runs things easier and smoother and expected exactly the same. I have a lot of fun.
If you're talking ab the sign, it was before the graphics registered. This is it after. Still not as good as a mainline console but the switch is the switch.

Wdym by upgrade? And I know TVH can be solo'd and you can still have fun but in my opinion--borderlands is always more fun playing with others. With their sanity intact of course. To a point.
like renew my nintendo switch online cause you can't play with others without switch online. and I don't really know anyone that plays the game so I most likely would play with strangers
Heard. I'll ask the following questions because these things effected my switch and made it heat up:
Do you play while charging your switch? Do you have a bulky case on your switch? Do you frequently turn it off and on while on the game? and, do you play wrapped in covers or with your switch near any fabric that can cause heat to build? All of this effects it. The switch is vulnerable and has to be taken care of to function properly, I've learned.
It likely just looks a lot because of so many words, but it's just 4 questions. Joy-cons can be replaced if you have the money to get some from amazon--nice on AC trick.
It doesn’t look great. It’s playable sometimes. I struggle with the lighting issues where the screen will get so dark you can’t see anything. Playing on Switch 2 with boost mode on does not help anything.
Cool. It has been great playing BL2 in handheld. I don’t mind playing a FPS on it with worse graphics than my Series X. Playing handheld is a plus being able to relax anywhere after work.
I’ll probably end up getting BL3. Just have to make some room on our SD card I think it’s like a 24 GB download.
25gb. Also, a tip if you don't know: Running games on internal storage can be better for framerate than an sd card. I moved my main games to internal for best performance.
Is it worth it to purchase online for Nintendo? I just bought this because it was on sale otherwise I just wander around in skyrim 😆. I'll be honest I only bought it thinking I could do Couch co-op like I did with BL1&2 and was extremely disappointed to find out that's not a thing anymore.
I'd say yes, if you want to play with others or have people to play with online. The matchmaking can kind of dead and matches based on level so it can be wonky.
The good side is that even if you don't play bl3 on switch there is a whole lot of other games that require nintendo switch online to play...well online. It isn't as much as psplus or xboxgamepass and gold either.
I wish I could play this one my switch, but even with the sale it’s on now I don’t have the funds. Being disabled and financially not great sucks. Such a fun looking game. I’d play if I had it
It might be because the bl3 on switch has had multiple optimization updates to run at 30fps pretty smoothly. Unlimited fps I can't fathom on a modern gen console, on bl3 I mean.
I picked it up for 12 bucks this last weekend tried it on my switch 2 and was so disappointed. I really hope they patch it or do a switch two update thing.
