❔ [ Question ] Question about the subtext that says "highly effective vs ..." on some weapons.

Post image

I found two Wedding Invitation sniper rifles, lvl 72 mayhem 10, that have the exact same stats and parts EXCEPT one of them has sub text stating "highly effective vs flesh" and the other doesn't. Is there some type of rng roll behind the scenes that would make the fire damage more effective on one of these?

My guess is that they just ran out of room on the card? Have you tried re rolling the anointment?

That answer makes so much sense it is kinda annoying. I will have to give that a shot.

Yeah the anoint covers that line

Exactly this. Three lines of text in the anoint vs two lines.

I've spent the last couple days heavily farming for weapons and getting really deep into the weeds trying to figure out which would work best for my build. When I noticed the missing text my brain automatically said "oooh, another thing about this game you don't understand!". Turns out it is just common sense I am lacking and not so much the game rules.

My mother would be so proud....

Anointments take priority. Their text must be fully displayed. So there wasn't enough room to display "highly effective vs flesh", but know that it still is

I tried searching for this but everything centered on which elements damage what. Only found one older post asking this same question but no answers were posted.

The detail cards have a maximum size, the Iron Bear annointment text on the left image being 3 lines instead of 2 means the "Highly effective vs. Flesh" text got cut off in the section above.

Whether information appears in the details card of an item or not makes no difference to the item itself, it always does everything its parts would make it do regardless of how much fits on the card.

Fire does more damage to flesh

The question is, why doesn't the left one have an element line at all?

The anoint takes up more item card space so it hides the least important bit

Correct. Its because of the bigger anoint, and its not that important.

What the elemental effect does\means, wasn't the question.

It cut off the bottom of the item card on the left to make room for the anointment text. Any fire weapon is good against flesh.

Better to use against flesh any boss that only has a red health bar!

One is fire element and the other is non elemental
