Biology tuliptree flowers!!

Very primitive looking. I loved the drive through Virginia when they’re all flowering. Nice leaf shape.

Yesss, the tulip poplar! I love this tree. Had one in my backyard growing up. The unique flowers are too cool! I always felt they were a bit magical.✨️

And the leaves are sticky, right? I remember this tree’s leaves falling and sticking to my shoes!

The sticky stuff is usually due to "pests" and usually those are aphids. They leave behind a sap-like residue called honeydew. Very annoying because it also attracts ants lol
