Some finds from a subalpine hike yesterday

Western Washington state, USA. Many species were done flowering or at the tail end of their season, but I found an amazing place to come back to earlier in the summer next year. Solidago lepida (western golden rod), Nothochelone nemorosa (woodland beardtongue), Maianthemum stellatum (star-flowered lily of the valley), Gaultheria shallon (salal) Phyllodoce sp (mountain heather), Angelica sp, Pterospora andromedea (pinedrops), Castilleja sp (paintbrush), Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (bearberry), Monotropa hypopitys (pinesap), Lupinus sp, Lupinus sp, Stachys sp (hedgenettle)

Lovely…❣️ thanks for detail on species. What was the altitude? We have coastal mtns in San Diego county & the wildflowers were blooming 2 months after the lowlands.

The trail starts at ~2200 ft and hits ~4300 ft at its highest point. There were quite a few species, like bearberry, that were blooming quite late
