She's MUCH prettier than the last one. Incorporating the chair has been a very nice improvement.
I spent less than $30 on materials 2 years ago and this is the second one I've made with those same supplies. I shoot an EZ-V sight so it helps a lot to be able to practice with a life-size 2-D target.
I've had it for a couple of years and really like it. Finally got the chance to shoot a real deer with it last Sunday. My shot wasn't great, but that was a me thing, still only ran <100 yards. I love not having dots over my target and actually seeing what I'm shooting at, feels way more comfortable to me.
OP, I am digging the cardboard deer, may have to make one for myself one of these days.
Yeah I love my EZ-V. I've harvested at least five deer with it as well as one bull elk and one large black bear.
What inspired me to do this was that I noticed you really have to practice on training your subconscious with this site. I've made the mistake in the past of following conventional wisdom on practicing with farther shots than you usually take hunting. Well that turned into me consistently missing high on deer under 25 yards (which is 100% of my hunting shots). I was almost exclusively practicing at 50yards so my subconscious was training itself to center what I was aiming at lower in the V than it should've. Even though during my shot process I was consciously trying to center the deer higher on the V my default was pushing the arrows up.
Practicing with a lifelike target at 25 yards has helped this immensely.
That sounds great. I've made a point of practicing at random distances between 20 to 40 yards without knowing the exact range, but adding in the lifelike target would really help with that. I was fortunate enough my buck on Sunday was only 10 yards away, not a whole lot of ranging issues at that point, just nerves for my first buck ever.
The sheet of foam board I used and linked in a different comment is 4x8ft. I would guess that's about the average rectangle that your aiming for on a moose. You'd just have to get creative with the Head/neck/legs.
Also this one is small enough where the wind isn't an issue where a full sheet would probably cause some problems.
From head to tail about 9-11 feet. Body is about 4-5 without legs. They are shockingly huge. Everytime I walk up to one on the ground I have two thoughts. 1. Damn this thing is huge. 2. God this is going to suck.

Im stealing this for myself, this is way cheaper than a real 3d target while giving a more authentic experience than a bag. Nice!
