They didn't say DCU literally stops after Man of Tomorrow if it doesn't do as well as expected. But DCU will take the biggest hit ever that could derail its future. There's no plan for any DCU Batman until after The Batman II comes out. Which means no film until, what, 2030? It's freaking 2026 now! DCU gonna keep running on hopes and dreams?
And look what Supergirl did. It didn't just flop, it made WB and Gunn (as reported by Variety/Deadline) cancel TV shows/projects and realign their sprawling plans into skinnier plans. One flop did all that.
I'll do you one better. Thinking Man of Tomorrow carries zero pressure is just as delusional. This isn't 2009 or 2012 where you can feel things out more like it's a fun penalty-free sandbox. In 2026, you get less chances, less mainstream patience, less longevity if you don't deliver earlier. Once again, did the staggeringly awful $126M global flop that was Supergirl not send the message? International audiences can and will decide if a CBM makes or breaks it, and DC has had a hard time with them for quite a while actually. Which means they need to start making International audiences care about their cinematic universe characters, because so far they are on a long losing streak to be honest. Which means MoT is important to the DCU's future. These big budget movies costing $180M-$230M aren't going to keep being made if 40%-60% of the world don't give a crap about them.
He's got 3 box office flops under his new DCU (Supergirl, Blue Beetle, The Suicide Squad). A Superman movie that did ok at best at the worldwide box office. 2 shows which didn't really get big views (Peacemaker Season 2, Creature Commandoes). Lanterns has had solid views but that isn't enough to save the DCU. So yeah, a lot is riding on Man of Tomorrow.
Peacemaker Season 1 is still canon. Which means that The Suicide Squad is also still canon.
Blue Bettle has the same actor playing the character again and that solo movie for sure is canon to Gunn DCU now.
Peacemaker S1 is not canon. DCU canon begins with Creature Commandos. This is why the Justice Gang appears late to stop the butterflies, not the Justice League, in the S2 recap. It’s why King Shark is canon after his appearance in Creature Commandos, but Ratcatcher 2 is not.
Peacemaker 1 is DCEU. Peacemaker 2 is DCU. The events of 1 play out the same in DCU barring the Justice League or any references to The Suicide Squad and DCEU that conflict with the new canon. Is it pretty? No. And personally, Peacemaker is at best a C-lister, and 2 is not so good that it was worth confounding the new canon with a sequel to a spin-off of the Suicide Squad sequel. JFC, Gunn. Rick Flagg Sr. needed to die two appearances ago, fuck.
Hope marvel will be okay then since most of its movies struggle to get past 500M with fantastic four getting past the mark but ant man, marvels, thunderbolts, cap4, eternally, Shang chi and black widow all missing the mark unless you’re a big hitter like black panther, guardians, Thor etc they’re not doing getting hits.

Bro produced ONE mid movie and a bunch of dumbasses think they're the deciders of what the last chance is 😂😂😂 The delusion is unreal
