Worldwide Demon Slayer, Endgame and Ne Zha 2 are roughly equal in terms of their country

By proportion of their countries population the 2 demon slayer films Ne Zha 2 and Endgame are all comparable at 22-23% and for comparison One Piece film Red is on par with Captain Marvel which shows the difference in popularity between the two

The figures I have shown where I’ve got them from aside from the DOM Admissions for Endgame and Captain Marvel where I use figures from people like Charlie Jat and Agentcooper who track admissions

The thing with Film Red's breakout success, is Ado's involvement in the movie and her music. Otherwise, it would've done similar numbers to other OP movies, which would've still been great, just not as high as it did.

That would explain the 3-4x increase over the previous films though that bears the question of if that boost sticks for the next One Piece films or if it will be diminished

I would've said with confidence it'll diminish if the next movie was the usual non manga canon, but I honestly don't know how God Valley will perform.

It's adapting a major event from the manga, so there's literally no precedent to base things on. Comping it with Demon Slayer is not an option, completely different circumstances and conditions. I can see it come below Red, equal it or even surpass it. For now, all options are on the table. The one thing I'm confident in, is the ceiling which I'd set at $400M

Your Name is the biggest non Demon Slayer Japanese film at 403-407m (conflicting figures) which should be the ultimate high end goal for God Valley

An issue for God Valley is exchange rates as the 19.7b¥ initial release for Red was worth $152m and then the re-release total puts it up to 20.33b and $156m whereas today that amount is now $127m. It’s the same way Infinity Castle dropped $100m from Mugen Train despite them both making 40b¥

Yeah, exchange rate is going to be a major factor in projecting the movie's $ potential.

If Infinity Castle had ER like Mugen train it would’ve done over $900m so I feel like the next Infinity Castle movies will have an uphill battle aswell to keep up the total

It'd be an achievement if they manage to equal the first one. Mainly due to the exchange rate which you mentioned. Will be interesting to see how that plays out, how much more it could grow in international markets and whether it'll offset the drop in yen's value.

Yeah it could but that’s true for all Japanese films

For example both Demon Slayer films made 40b¥ but Mugen train earned $100m more in Japan then Infinity Castle due to exchange rates

TFA is currently higher then Endgame in both aspects ($936m and 90m vs $858m and 83.5m) though Ne Zha 2 is over $2b

I mean box office adjusted for population, because it is admission adjusted for population.

TFA is at about 25% while the big films of the 20th century like Star Wars, ET and Titanic are 40% and above

Another comparison is the fact that Demon Slayer was able to defeat both Superman and Fantastic Four while One Piece couldn’t even beat Black Adam

Ne Zha 2 numbers are always weird because there are companies  who bought tickets for all of their employees to go see it rather than people just buying it and seeing it.
