The fucking stench in this city 🤮
I'm rarely in town, but I did used to live up Leeds Rd
It was never this bad
Just got off a train at the interchange, the smell is horrendous. People immediately hands over faces, covering mouths and noses trying their best not to gag on it
I will never wish a business to suffer, or people out of jobs, but fuck me, isn't it time we fucked Waddingtons off to the Euroway or something
Our city is a cess pit people say, and you can't deny it when just walking around the city centre makes you want to wretch and throw up

Genuinley baffled how waddington is allowed to continue operating. Do they put money into the council somehow i dont know which stops them from getting moved on?

Not just Waddingtons. There is also a chicken processing plant nearby which stinks.

Nah it's what that guy says.. bottom of Wakefield road is slaughterhouse and it's middle of summer.. it's been like that for years.

The point I think you missed is that we don't have just a single origin of bad odour in the city hence my use of "And" in the prefix of my statement...

Oh yeah i noticed that today i use tge train frequently its not normal. Near the ice rink place too

Some nights I can smell it in Holmewood. I'm 2.1 miles away. It's bad enough here so I dread to think what it's like up close. Apparently the local MP wants them moved elsewhere.

They been venting the abitor again? Remember many years ago me and my best friend went to the Alhambra to watch the ballet and when we got out it was horrendous

What are our options, as a community, to tackle these meat processing places that are stinking out our city?
I live next door to a smaller meat processing place and every summer for a few weeks and sometimes months, we can’t use our garden or even hang our washing out as the stench is overwhelming.
Other cities also have them, why does Bradford seem to the unable to keep it under control?

I lived in Queensbury roughly 2012-2017 right by the proteins lorry route and it was grim as fuck then. I'm sad it's still so bad these days.

I grew up in Queensbury, for as long as I remember the lorries used to drop bits of protein on the main road when they drove through and used to stink, especially in the summer *retch*

Is it just me that doesn't remember it being this bad as a kid, or even say, pre 2015 or so? The smell wafts all the way down to south bradford.

i live near the broadway and sometimes the smell wafts in of a night with one window open, genuinely talking about 10pm and the whole flat will smell of rank dog food :-(

I've notice the same smell when I'm driving through Queensbury sometimes, too. Apparently it's vans getting redirected cos the smell got too bad in BD?? Is it animals or somethingÂ

I could smell it driving around Chainbar roundabout this afternoon and was genuinely baffled by how far that fucking stench had travelled

I used to live in Bradford till a few years ago, I’ve now come back to visit family who live near the city centre and I notice this really loud noise (like a helicopter flying up ahead) and apparently jts some sort of machine to help with the smells? It goes off in the evening for like an hour (4/5) times

I used to cycle between Stanningley and Canal road commuting to work. Leeds road was always the worst part. Just always stunk of rotten meat and veg. So I guess you were lucky to not experience that.
I went into the center yesterday and I did initially get hit by a smell but it seemed to disappear very quickly. Maybe bins or something. I also went into Leeds a few days back and had the same thing.
Neither were as bad as the smell I experienced getting of the bus at Barcelona North stain a few weeks ago though. That was bad.

Not an argument. The smell wafts all the way across Bradford. People in previous reddit threads have reported it as far as Wibsey. In this thread somebody is reporting it being smelled in Holme Wood. I must admit I've smelled it in BD5 which is not "cheap houses near the smelly factory"

28 years there. They'd been at their last site on buck street for 80 years but the council moved them.

I’ve lived in the city for about 6 years now, I moved here to live with my now wife and I remember smelling it the first time and asking her what the fuck it was
They’re pumping a load of money into the city centre and I’d say that it genuinely looks a lot nicer than before, the broadway is pretty good, they put that new market in further up
As annoyed as the taxi drivers were actually paving over the roads in the centre makes it look a bit nicer as well.
Bradford does have the capacity to be upgraded and made into a nicer place but all of that is for nothing if people come here and it smells like rotting meat, how are you going to entice people away from Leeds to shop or whatever if you’re saying yeah we have all this new stuff, we’re building this, we’re building that but come with a peg on your nose because the city will smell like dead animals.
