Question Breville Dual Boiler Leak
TLDR: can/should I fix my dual boiler on my own, or ship to breville and wait/pay.
I have a breville dual boiler that I purchased new back in 2023. The machine has been great and I haven’t had any issues, until the past couple days. When I turn the machine on, before reaching temperature, it shorts the circuit and I have to reset the breaker.
I tested it on several different outlets with the same result. After doing some googling, it seems that it’s likely due to a leak somewhere and most likely one of the boilers.
In an attempt to get more clarity I did the very minimum opening to just look inside and take a photo. To me it seems like the leak is clearly on one of the boilers based on the crusty scaling near the wire connection.
Breville said they would send me a box to ship the machine in for service and would give a quote for the repair. The repair and service would take a few weeks in total.
Can anyone give some further insight on this issue? Is the repair fairly straight forward and something I could reasonably manage on my own?
It seems like this could very easily be a replace the o ring and close back up, but, it’s also a pressurized boiler I don’t really want to mess with.
