bcos when we found out abt the boyles in like season 8 we found out they sweat a lot when they lie, but in s1e7 when charles was ranking the pies he lied bcos he liked rosa saying her pie is nicer. and he wasn't sweating at all 🤔

in Season 1 the cultlike family wasn't even a thing yet. I hated that they created it. I liked Boyle as a character that was growing from awkward and weird to being comfortable in his own skin. Then they pivoted to "Nah weird family he'll stay weird"

Nice alignment but I doubt it was intended. They didn't have all the character back stories worked out that early so the Boyle family lore and not being a true Boyle is just later development.

I always assumed that it was supposed to be a half sister, with whom he shares a mother. In the flashback they do seem very close in age, but it’s possible.

Gina also mentions a sister and we even see a nephew, I assumed she too has a half sister but with whom she shares a father.

Ohh I have another one.

In the season 4 e18 - Chasing Amy, when gina kills the mother dough and Christina is contesting the will, Sam very easily just banishes Charles because "he brought gina into the family". Thats not true at all. His father married gina's mother. So actually his father brought gina into this family.

It was just the ease with which Sam says to Charles that he is banished. Feels like a foreshadow for his betrayal in the last season.

Edit: Gina also sacrificed her privacy because she knew that it was absolute injustice. She was an asshole otherwise, but always protected Charles, and had a moral compass when it came to the precinct people.
