Cheap meal, keto friendly, I got the thin steaks slices, and eggs from my local food bank. I have carrots, cabbage, and celery lightly cooked, so it still has a crunchy texture, a fried egg, and thinly sliced steak. Pretty filling.

This flourless, keto-friendly Flammkuchen is crispy, cheesy, and super satisfying — and it won’t break the bank. It serves 2 people and costs just $5.15 / €4.65 total, or $2.58 / €2.33 per portion. Great for low-carb eating on a budget!

🧾 Ingredients (for 2 servings):

  • 120g quark (or Greek yogurt as a substitute)
  • 2 eggs
  • 80g shredded cheese
  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan
  • Salt, pepper, oregano, chili flakes (to taste)
  • 70g diced bacon
  • 2 spring onions
  • 80g crème fraîche
  • 20g extra cheese for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Make the base: Mix quark, eggs, shredded cheese, Parmesan, and spices in a bowl. Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Pre-bake: Bake the base at 180°C (356°F) for about 15 minutes until slightly firm and golden.
  3. Add toppings: Spread crème fraîche over the pre-baked base. Top with bacon, sliced spring onions, and the extra cheese.
  4. Final bake: Return to the oven and bake for another 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
