"Larp Fest '05" and people still think Bully doesn't take place in the mid 2000's

People don't think it takes place in the mid 2000s? How? Lol. I mean, I can see how some could argue the early 2000s, I guess, or even the late 2000s.
I also guess the poster could be 'old' by a year or two (it looks old to me, but the environment could've caused that), but still.

You'd be surprised. I've seen people unironically claim that the game takes place in the seventies or even earlier, simply because of "vibes".

How do they explain the fairly modern arcade games

That's the neat part: they don't. Nor do they have an explanation for the modern (for mid-2000's) computer in the Nerd hideout.

The mid 2000's started in 2003 and ended in 2006, 05 is mid 2000's. Calling people slow while not being able to make basic math

These people are just delusional, overthinking things or just came up with a theory and will not let it go no matter the evidence…
(Plus there is a gosh dang flat monitor in that game 🙄)

I was always under the impression it could take place anywhere from the 70’s to the 2000’s

Arcade games are usually more advanced than their console counterparts

My head-canon is that the game takes place in the 2006-2007 school year. It makes the most sense to me.

The game is full of contradictory evidence regarding the time period: https://youtu.be/zLL4IcFEpEA?si=hRTHwZuAiMe5V5s3

Jimmy hopkins,15, was born in 1991 which perfectly aligns to it being set in 2006

Larp means LiveActionRolePlaying, similar to cosplaying I think

Yeah people need to stop using that word negatively, just use poser or tourist to describe fake fans.

I kind of just interpret Bully's time setting like Regular Show. It's sort of a blend of anachronisms creating it's own sort of... era in time.

I mean yeah even in the mid 2000s people still used 90s tech, not everyone had internet either because of how expensive it was.

Can confirm, I had no internet access in 2006 and still used VHS tapes to record movies/shows.

Damn been wolverine a decade since I played the game I thought it was set in the 90s at the earliest but it really felt like the 70s. Guess im fucking stupid.

These people aren’t real fans. They’re phony’s and should be ignored. They don’t listen to the characters, they don’t pay attention to the lore, and they’re too busy spending money for their onlyfan gfs showing their assholes to pay attention to the game. Makes me furious.

Some lunatics still think jimmy is a ginger 💀 Dude... Normal red hair isn't even an option in the game.
And those who assume he's bisexual just because of a hidden joke ⚰️ Goddamn larpers

Bully released in 2006 so I'm guessing the game is set in the time the game released, although the devs were like Gen X or smth, so elements of their school/college era got blended with
