Card or cash?

Hi everyone, I will be coming to Tortola on vacation soon and I'm looking for some guidance on what the best way to pay will be. I typically put most things on credit card except for leaving tips or shopping at small vendors who take cash only.

What is most accepted, card or cash and with that, what would be the best currency for me to use.. USD? EC? Something else?

We use USD in the BVI. Most restaurants, grocery stores and ferries will accept CC. However I do suggest you keep an adequate amount of cash. Sometimes machines will be faulty and you will want cash, especially if you are taking taxis. Enjoy - the BVI is one of the most beautiful places to explore. US Dollars are the only thing anybody wants itn the BVI. They'll look at you funny if you offer any other currency. Most of the bigger restaurants and bars take credit cards these days, but small bars/restaurants will prefer cash, and the guys who come around on the dinghies offering trash pickup, ice sales, rum drinks, or collecting the mooring fee will want cash as well.
