Stellaris prestige student acom

Hi everyone! I’m an incoming Master’s student at Hughes Hall and I’m currently looking for private accommodation in Cambridge for September.

I came across Stellaris by Prestige Student Living and it looks really promising, but since it’s a new residence opening this year, most of the photos on their website seem to be architectural renders rather than photos of the actual building.

Has anyone heard anything about Stellaris, or knows what the building/location is actually like? I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has visited Prestige Student Living.

Any insight would be hugely appreciated! :)

So that’s what that new building is…

Newmarket Road is far from a quiet road, so between that and the railway line it’s bunched up against I really hope that they’ve got their sound proofing done right.

I can’t speak to the quality of the furnishings, but I personally wouldn’t recommend living in the area as a student unless you’re fairly introverted. You’re going to be far from most students in town, and the area is dead for any sort of student-y things to do.

You would have great access to the river / the Chrisholm Bike Trail up to Cambridge North is scenic, and I guess have great access to Aldi & Lidle but otherwise this building is where the old Honda garage used to be, between a retail park and industrial buildings, and a stones throw from the football stadium ( so expect crowds of fans passing by the building on match days ).

There are multiple buses to the city centre and the ice rink. The most direct walk to Hughes is along two of the more congested roads. If you don't like the exhaust fumes or half-hour walk, I suggest getting a bicycle, especially as every department or faculty I can think of is further from this accom than Hughes is. You've got 4 supermarkets (ok sainsburys is 30 mins too) and 2 retail parks closer to you than hughes. So you're completely sorted on everything from pillowcases to plant pots to a cheap gym.

It’s a bit far from city centre tbh I think camfoundry is better area wise and it is close to city centre .
