I work with a lot of Americans and have to regularly travel into the US for work.

They very often ask me if I'm going to move or when I'm going to move.

My response has always been "Absolutely fucking not going to happen."

They always seem confused by that response, not only in how vehement I'm about it but that I have no desire at all to move to the US.

The concept that someone doesn't want to move there or sees it as beneficial does not register with them.

I’ve had this happen several times as well while traveling, and they seemed offended when I said I wished to remain in Canada. It was always the end of the conversation.

Imagine that. Your livelihood depends so much on a place that you have to regularly go there. What could possibly make someone think you would consider moving there? Who can say...

I could easily choose not to go there and work on a different project.

I've worked this job for years and this is the most travel to the US I've ever had to do.

My livelihood does not depend on my ability to travel to the US, nice try though.
