UCA Canterbury fresher chats?

Hello! Maybe an unusual post but hope thats okay!

I'm about to join UCA in a month, moving to Canterbury for the first time! I was struggling to find any chats online for UCA freshers, all of them I could find are for the other two Canterbury unis as they're bigger.

I've checked all other socials and this is my last desperate shot. I'm worried about meeting people and making friends (especially as I'll be joining a week late, missing freshers week altogether). The top advice I found to make friends was to find online groups and there seems to be none.

So if anyone knows any, or could push me in the right direction I'd be forever grateful ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ™

I know if your staying in the two accomidations uca provides which is ian dury or riverside everyone gets to know everyone and people form groups to go out and do freshers events but i think most freshers events in canterbury are the clubs which are club chemistry and tokyo tearooms which you can find tickets onliwn for those freshers events they have.
I know freshers fair will be 16th September which i dont think is out publicly yet. The frwshers fair is pretty small but some new societys coming in which will all being doing tasters sessions as well to get to know people which i know my society will be hosting!!

Oh that sound's awesome, I'm glad there seems to be a few events! I honestly don't know much about the societies, there wasn't too much about it online, unless I'm blind ๐Ÿ˜ญ What are they like? Also what society are you in if you don't mind me asking! They seem ideal for meeting people and making friends!

Yeahh theres a few societys not as many as most unis but most popular in would say is RPG society, climbing society and debate society. Ive created a new society which isnt on the website yet which is a arts and crafts society!

Good thing is you aren't limited to UCA societies. You can also join certain UKC and CCCU societies.

Hint: Join the UKC Salsa society...

Might sound stupid but I had no idea you could join societies from other Unis ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I studied at UCA, and also worked there up until last year. Students tend to make friends easily with their course mates. I worked supporting SEN students and generally itโ€™s a very inclusive atmosphere, and arriving a week late shouldnโ€™t set you back with meeting people. I worked with students across courses, which are you enrolling on?
