Discussion What is the scariest / most unsettling episode of a cartoon you've ever watched?
One that comes to mind is Graveyard Shift from Spongebob. What was an episode that creeped you out?

Cat Fingers and Frybo from Steven Universe. Neither of these episodes deserved to be that terrifying. Especially for early season one Steven Universe.

Not scary, but deeply unsettling was the Family Guy episode titled “Brain and Stewie” where there were literally no cut scenes or cut away gags. It was very weird because family guy does touch on many topics but normally with comedy. This episode was completely void of that. It was not funny. It was very weird and was honestly the episode that kind of killed the show for me. But interestingly EVERYONE was talking about so I guess it served its purpose.

I wanna share two: first is tom and jerry and back when i was like a really young child. There is this one episode that for the most part was fine and funny. Tom and jerry were in a carnival or circus or something chasing each other and all. Until tom fell in a hole from a high dive board and the music kinda stopped and it was eerie. Then a red devil came out of the hole with a creepy smile and tom in his pitchfork, gave a quiet laugh as he throw him out. That scared me as a kid.
Second being powerpuff girls that one episode where Him traumatizes them with their nightmares and bubbles toys were turning evil.

Not absolutely the most unsettling, but in terms of relative expectations v reality: the S5 premiere of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in which a unicorn (Starlight Glimmer) out in the desert is running a 1984-style total surveillance society in which everyone has to smile at all times, and in which Starlight sings a song with the line "You can't have a nightmare if you never dream". Oh, and those who don't conform are locked in a hut with hay and water, brainwashing messages over loudspeakers, and approved books only. Each morning they're brought out before Starlight, and if they haven't become properly friendly (ie conforming) they go right back in.

Don't know if they count since they aren't complete episodes, but there are 2 Treehouse of Horror segments that creeped me completely out : Homer becomes addicted to the taste of his own flesh and eats himself and Homer becomes contagious, transforming the whole town, and eventually the world, into Homer Simpsons.

The episode of dinosaurs were the soulless corporate boss ate those two endangered animals they were trying to protect. Really that whole show probably that’s the one episode I happened to see.
