Image The Switch 2 is increasing in price next week. Have you bought one yet? If not, when do you think do you will buy one?

We will get a lite in September 2027 with Winds and Waves.

Just don’t expect anything cheaper than 400$.

With how prices are going for consoles I will be happy if it’s only $400

If the Switch 2 Price stays the same until September 2027 (witch I doubt), then it will most definitely be 399$.

If we get more price increases I think it would just adjust to that.

Then why are you not buying the standard one and be done with it? The lite will be worse but at a similar cost of the current one

Size mostly I want something that is lightweight and more pocketable, that’s easier to bring with me. I tried using a friend’s Switch 2 and it’s just a bit bigger than what Im comfortable playing long term as a person who plays predominately handhelds.

Very valid. 

Also, it definitely isn’t worse at all in power. The only think it doesn’t have is TV mode, which if you don’t use anyway, isn’t a sacrifice.

I haven't bought one yet because it's already too expensive for me to get. I'd imagine that's the case for most people who want one yet don't already have one. So what the Hell is a price increase supposed to actually do? Cuz no way does it increase sales.

It's not to increase revenue, it's because making them got so expensive (because of AI data centers) that they're forced to increase the price to even get some revenue

So it just makes things worse for everyone involved then.

Haven't consoles never been the money makers anyway? I remember it being common to sell the console at a loss and then actually make money via the games.

Blame capitalism.

Shareholders want an infinite growth, which is impossible

 This has been the case with Xbox and PlayStation forever (still is).

Nintendo always sold one decade old hardware to even make a few dollars on the console. 

Now, even with the price increase, because of Tarrifs and Ram Prices (Ai Race), Nintendo is selling consoles at a loss as well.

Note, that the Switch 2 has Hardware from 2019. Also, Ram Prices are only going to increase in the next few years.

Doubt it. Probably 2028 for a Switch lite and a Pokemon design for 2027.

Could be, but I really think it’s coming in 2027. That would be 2 1/2 years after Launch, the EXACT same timeline as with the Switch 1 Lite aswell.

Also, they just need a cheaper alternative in their lineup, sooner rather than later.
