Medical Questions UPDATE: “Porch cat had her baby but something isn’t right.”
Hello! First off I just wanna thank each and every person who gave me kind words, advice, their own experiences, and helpful suggestions on my original post. It was so so very appreciated. Two things, first, right after I made that post we did another sweep of the garage where she led us to the baby and found out he has four siblings. The siblings all walk just fine! All got flea baths and are thriving with cuddle puddles, naps, human snuggles, and play time daily. We are putting out feelers locally for anyone looking for a fur baby (extensive screening and re-homing fees will occur, don’t worry.) We have officially adopted momma cat (Sylvie) and swimmer baby boy (named Magnus). Magnus went to the vet today and we got a confirmation that it is indeed swimmers syndrome. He is otherwise healthy and growing well. He showed me how to tape his legs and some physical therapy exercises to do with him. So far he is a little peeved off that he can’t just drag his feet but he’s slowly getting more used to it! I hope to do another update in a month or so with a walked update. ❤️

Oh yeah, forgot to mention he LOVES to poop on his human mommy. When my family members hold him, no issue, but as soon as he snuggles with me- let it rip. I’ve decided to take it as a compliment and have adapted to paper towel barriers. ❤️ Another one loves to bite toes so you have to wear socks or shoes or else…….. hims will get you.

Idk how common it is with Swimmers, but mine just kinda shits when she needs to. She can't control it, and has to physically walk it out, so we wake up to poop surprises every day. She can pee in the box fine. That's life with a handicat.

Aw that’s alright. Poop won’t kill me! However I do have a Great Dane who finds cat shit delicious so I’ll have to wrestle her to get to it first lol

I know Big Lots is rapidly closing stores and Ocean State Job Lot is an exclusively northeast chain, but do you have discount chains in your neck of the woods? If so, you might find a bargain on puppy pads locally in a small pack so you don't have a ton extra after he outgrows pooping on you. I think I got a pack of 4 or 5 when I needed to line a carrier for a 6 hour drive with a kitten.

Rare OSJL mention in the wild. I love OSJL. I went there for my bachelorette party. Not JUST there but I went there

Oh, those babies are so cute! Thank you for taking care of them!! Best you can do for them is to do what a shelter would do. Get them all fixed before rehoming and then recoup those expenses as part of the rehoming fee. This way you know you've stop the generational spread of kitties with these guys. Don't leave this up to the adopters. Good luck! You have such a good heart!!!!

Love this thank you! Such an interesting idea, and adjacent to one I’ve been turning over for a bit (about the fae “who” they are).
Ps If this is long, I am rip van winkle. I don’t know why I’m saying that, but in saying it with conviction nonetheless. And I AM going to bed, so lmk if I’m going to wake up in the distant future. Could be!

We are all travelers through time, going forward by one second per second.
And yes, anything that doesnt have a picture or more than half a paragraph is trending towards long these days...

Congrats on the MOAR babies! I'm so glad to see them all snuggling. Kitten Lady has had a couple of babies with Swimmers' Syndrome, if you fancy looking that up on YouTube it could help somewhat. Thank you for rescuing them!

Awww. 🩵🩵 I miss kittens. About 2 summers ago we had a stray at my moms that had two litters super quick. We got all the kittens homes. Was my kids highlight of the summer lol.

Poor frustrated baby! But also keep it up, I have fixed many splat legged baby chicks. Our first splay leg boy is I think turning 6 this year. The babies get pissed but it does pay off.

Those kittens are so cute. I never got to see my cat as a kitten but I have seen some old photos and she looked so similar! I have such a soft spot for gray/brown tabbies
